According to the computer I'm at 21.6 avg 60% highway. Only have 210miles on it.
I'll be doing calculations by hand like I do on my Diesel Truck (7000lbs and 17mpg avg) on the next tank.

I was getting 15.3 before too. I would say my car is average 15L/100km city. Shifting at 3000 rpm, this is dissapointing to me.
Other then that, the car is amazing in every way. Except for my blue rings on my IOM interior
For those who don't know the conversion factor, 15L/100km is just under 16 mpg.

700 km on it now and I am now getting 16L/ 100km, 14.7 mpg. All city, shifting under 3000 rpm 98% of the time. Could something be wrong with my car?

Try shifting lower. 3000 is a bit much with all that torque available right from idle. You don't have to shift as low as I do (my VW keeps up with traffic shifting at 1500 rpm, and has a relatively lame torque to weight ratio), but certainly 3000 is far more than necessary.

Also, make sure you're not racing from red light to red light...go just fast enough to cruise through the next green light, or if that won't work then just fast enough to avoid holding up traffic, then coast to the red light. Save the excitement for when you're not hemmed in by traffic.

...and again, I say, shift low: Use the torque, luke!

So are these low mpg results anomaly then? These low numbers are freaking me out. Might as well get the V8 if it is going to be this bad.

LS 6 Spd, 60%HWY 40%CITY, 23.3. Disappointing, I am thinking maybe I should starting shifting at 1500 RPM's instead of 3000, do you think that may help? All flat here, no mountains. Thankfully. Love her though, would not return her over the mpg. Any other things I should change?

Whats wrong with 23.3 with 60%/40%? That appears to be spot on with the average between 17city/29highway that its rated for.

I did some playing around yesterday and today. I got 18-19 in the city. Lots of red lights and the average fuel display took into play. So I think that that might give people wrong readings. On the highway I got 29.5 MPG. That was nice to see. Lots of hills also. I am up in Maine.

So what would you expect with a 1SS manual?
