I only use it when I really have to. I got pulled over for tinted tail lights with my S430. I just took the fine. But something like this I had no choice. I've only actually used 3 times in like 4 years.

I haven't even been pulled over 3 times since I got my license 11 years ago.....

If you are caught for DUI for example is the gold card member or let say the privileged ones can be exempted? I am just asking how far they can go to use this badge.

It had nothing to do with you, that gold card is worth more than gold. Around here if you have one its literally a get out of jail free card!!! Lucky you have one

Honestly I think this whole "Gold Card" thing stinks.

Why should it matter if you are related to somebody in Law enforcement?

If you've broke the law then you've broke the law, simple as that - or at least it should be.

And I'm not being critical of the OP - I'm glad you got off, just hate the principal of this card

Gold card doesn't get you out of much. Usually just infractions if anything. I can't speak for others but with me it would not get you out of a DUI. There is no excuse for drunk driving. In my city we have the choice of issuing a citation for DUI or booking into jail for it. Being a LEO or a immediate family member may get you a citation, but you're still getting the DUI regardless.

I got a ticket in my 1LS 2 days after i got my car. 50 in a 40. Cop didn't give me any break. He told me since I got a new car thats not an excuse to drive fast. I asked for a warning. His response was, "I'm a traffic cop, I don't give warnings" What an ass.. It cost me 160 bucks and Im on deferred until the end of May. No more speeding for me.
