I just had my exhaust guy remove and straight pipe the back two catalytics and both resonators and it gave me a nice low rumble. I myself still want more sound, but this might work for what you want. I will try to post a sound clip later today.

Has anybody thought of removing the resonators and replace with straight pipe leaving the stock mufflers intact? Would that help the sound since it is argued that the stock mufflers "flow"? What would that do, if anything?

OR

Remove the resonators and do an axle back muffler replacement with something like Flowmaster, Borla, Corsa, etc.? Is that essentially doing a Cat back only maintaining the 2.5 inch size pipe and keeping the H-pipe instead of X-pipe and should be cheaper to boot?

I would guess that if you remove the resonators and replace with a straight pipe you will pick up some sound, but the interior noise and drone will increase. Where taking the mufflers off it will only increase the sound out the end of the tail pipe and not much in the cabin.

I would like to see someone take the stock system, gut all the cats and possible the muffler delete and see what it sounds like and the power you gain from that. I'm guessing you would gain much more power by removing the restrictive cats then you would by removing a resonator or muffler that are straight threw.

I want a full system and will get one but right now I am totally satisfied with my low cost (under 200) custom mod and everyone that has heard it loves it and there is no highway drone and no adverse effects from doing it. My fellow Camaro friends, only you can decide but dont just rely on pictures and words, ask for your fellow members opinions and advice and balance it with the words and data of someone that has something to sell you. In the words of Forrest Gump. Thats all I have to say about that!

any back pressure i have the the muffler delete .when i step on my gas it feels a little sluggish then launches like a rocket.should i be feeling that sluggish jolt or not .it feels like back pressure to me .i also dont drive the car everyday .some people say that your computer will feel the need for fuel and adjust .if im saying that right .not sure .anybody else been feeling this with slp muffler delete or fly by night muffler delete .will take any help thanks

I have heard that the computer does need to adjust. I did mine within the first 100 miles and was driving break in style and did not notice any change. Now that break in is done and I drive it like I stole it I am not having any delay issues. However, at the strip I did get the feeling that I was needing more air in but that could just be a mental thing anyway. I have heard that you can boot your computer by disconnecting the battery and waiting for the capacitors to drain then re-hook it up and you should be good to go. But caution cause I heard onstar does not like it when the battery is disconnected. Oh well so sad! By the way I did my delete in broad daylight....lol
