Well if you like the vette you will like the v8 camaro. They have a zl1 camaro and 2 1le camaros there. Check those out.

I even spun my rear tires the other day, when I rounded a corner and accelerated. I was like, "Holy Moses." That V6 can be a lot of fun.

I'm like Garfield when he says he loves driving his 2LS. Same here. I love driving my 2LS. Everytime I get in my camaro, it's fun. It drives great.

The vette is going to sold on allocation, so good luck getting one at msrp, and it won't happen at viva. They were crazy when the camaro first came out and are still that way with there zl1's.

If I can't get it at MSRP, I'll just wait until Aug of 2014, and try to order a 2015 at MSRP. I told them when I went down there I would only pay MSRP, or I would wait and get a 2015. I also told them when they were ready to order the car for me, I would check out the other 3 dealerships to make certain Viva was competitive. The other three are of course Mission, Rudolph, and Bravo. That's what I did when I bought my Camaro, and I'll do the same when I order the vette. That way all 4 dealerships have a chance to sell me the car. They all claim to offer the best deal, so my attitude is, "What can you do for me"?

Well I had heard they were going to offer a cheaper version, and I was thinking about maybe getting it, but in the corvette forum they are now saying they are not going to offer a cheaper version. Here's an article where they are interviewing Tadge Juechter, corvette chief engineer.

http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...154747632.html

In this article he is asked about the cheaper version corvette. Here's what he had to say about it......

"What's the response to the idea there could be a sub-Stingray model Corvette?
It's a load of crap. It's fabricated."

So I don't know if they are going to make a cheaper version. I kind of want to get the corvette experience, so I'll probably get the stingray, even if they eventually offer the cheaper version. A cheaper version would probably be viewed as a "fake corvette", or something. I would always be wondering what the "real thing" was like.

I think I saw the ZL1 when I went down there. It was on the showroom floor. It was white, with a black hood scoop. I just kind of glanced at it, as I walked by. When I walked by it, I just kind of glanced at the floor, and thought, "Damn," it looked so good. It was just gorgeous. It was stunning.

I just checked Viva website, and they have a summit white ZL1 for sell, so that's the car I saw on their showroom floor. It's something else. Words can't describe it.

In the corvette forum, many dealerships are offering the vette at MSRP. I emailed Kerbeck Corvette, (I think they're up in New Jersey,) and they emailed me back and told me they would sell it to me for MSRP, and have it drop shipped to a dealership in El Paso. I don't really want to buy it that way, but if I get hacked off, I might buy it from them, and have them drop ship it to Viva. (Payback is hell.) Viva might scratch it all up, for revenge, so that strategy might come back to bite me in the .........

To be honest, be very careful about when dealers say that they will sell you at MSRP. The way that the new C7 Corvette is being hyped both on the enthusiast forums and around automobile magazines, this car is going to be hot, this reulting in dealers trying to get as much as they possibly can while the flame is going. I have read and listened to stories about dealers making the workbench orders for the Camaro when it was coming fresh off the assembly plants back in June/July where folks would make the order to their specifications having the dealer say that they will be getting it at MSRP and then once it came in, tack on an additional 2K, 5K, even 10K additional for the Camaro. Some folks paid, but some got screwed as the dealer(s) didn't care much cause since they were being all hyped, knew that some sap would pay the additional charge. Now, depending on the dealership, when you make an order, you will have to be making a deposit on the car itself before they can order it if it's not on the lot. Sometimes the deposit is $500 and can sometimes run up to $2000, and it's non-refundable. So if you do make a workbench order off an allotment for a 2014 Corvette, LT or Stingray, and let's say have to put down a $1000 DP, that will not guarantee you that the dealer will sell you the car at MSRP. It can come in, ready for you to sign the papers and fork over the cash and they can add on $2k-$5k and tell you take it or leave it once it arrives.

Sometimes, getting it shipped is worth the hassle as long as you get it for the price you want and the service that you deserve. I myself for example, was going through many dealerships in the area such as Bravo, Mission, and Viva, and they all treated me like crap. Almost went with the option on ordering my Camaro through three different dealerships around the country, one in Cali, another in Denver, and the other in Michigan which was Berger Chevrolet. They worked well with me, had great credentials with the Camaro community, and all offered me to sell it at MSRP. Now at the time, Camaros were still going for over $2k above MSRP and paying an additional $875 to have it shipped to the dealership of my choosing seemed very worth it as I was getting what I wanted. However, I ran into a dealer at Rudolph in El Paso, and he treated me like a king and sold it to me at my asking price.

So you have the right mentality on only finding the service that you know that you deserve, but don't be shocked at all when the new C7s roll out and you're going to be forking 2K and above to have one. Besides if you're getting a trimmed down version of a C7, you might as well get yourself a SS 1LE as they will be cheaper, handle the same, and put out as much power as the LS3 block. Plus 1LEs are not going to be aS common to see out on the roads like a regular 2SS, ZL1, or even a C7, and can be as significant in beginner collector markets as the IROC-Zs are becoming now from the 1980s 20 years from now. Best of luck to ya and I hope that you get the best service to you rightfully deserve.

Yes, I realize this is a Camaro forum, and not a corvette forum, but here are some C7's out in Arizona for testing.

Guys, I just wanted to add, when I read about the Toptier gas we're suppose to use in our cars, I started filling up at the Chevron, which has Toptier gas. I had notice my Camaro was not idling perfectly smooth, and I was wondering about that. I had filled up a few times at a station that does not use Toptier gasoline. Anyway, my Camaro is now idling perfectly smooth. So I would strongly urge you to use only Toptier gas.

Again, here is a list of retailers that use Toptier gas. And for V6 engines, use regular plus, not regular. (It needs to be at least 87 octane.) For V8, I think they're suppose to use premium. (Not sure what the octane rating is suppose to be for V8, but some V8 owners here would probably know. It would be stated in the owner's manual.)

We are planning on going this weekend (Farley's), but don't know about El Paso in the morning though.
Xfactors, you can use regular unleaded instead of plus in a stock V6 in this area. The 87 requirement is for sea level, as you go up in elevation the air is thinner and less octane is needed.

Those of you looking for the 10 spoke zl1 wheels, they are now available to order. Find a good dealer that will give you a good price.
