Headers primary tube size for zl1?

What is your guys take on headers like these.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-CAMARO...&vxp=mtr#rpdId

I have no intentions of building a 700rwhp monster. But am looking for am inexpensive improvement over stock to go with a pulley upgrade. I can "get away" with the cat delete where i live as well. Just seems to be a very cheap alternative to borlai have looked at.

You have a 60000.00 car and your looking for cheap parts. LOL. Headers will only gain you a few HP.

I would avoid them like the plague. If I saw those cheap headers on a used, for sale, ZL1 (or SS for that matter)... I would not buy it... just based on knowing what type of person had it before me.

I put ARH headers on mine.

Kinda figured this would be the typical response I would get when just trying to ask an honest question. When it matters I don't cheap out! My tires for my Z are 600 a piece (Potenza re070 305/30r20 all 4 corners) because I realize the gains from having the best traction.

If i can pay $400 less and get the same gains I will.

I was looking for some feed back from someone who may have used an header such as this.

Leaks? bent flanges?

Cat-less as previously stated and seller claims no O2 extensions needed. If they were needed its a whopping 20 bucks

For affordable headers I recommend Texas Speed and Stainless Power. You can research both on here. Affordable and well made.

correct headers by them selves will only net a few hp but..
To the contrary With the 90 mm throttle body, pulley up grade (14psi) CAI Headers/cat delete will help me a great deal partially by getting the boost pressure back down some.

those kits still require the connection pipes.

texas speed has header that are cheap and people seem to like.

Stainless power headers are another one that is a decent cheaper header.

the borla headers are nice but at $700+ without connection pipes they are not really cheap.

stainless power are $699 off road with connection pipes, texas speed are about $550 off road 789 I think with cats. JBA can be had for a decent price they are 409 stainless but you can get them coated for like $789 a set. they have V-band collectros which IMO are suppior to slip fit stuff. The kooks have ball and socket collectors which i like better than the slip fit.

I am trying to decide bettween texas speed vs stainless power or just buying kooks and not being cheap. I can't make up my mind.

People will act like cheap headers are no good but they are not structual to the car. If they are made out of 304 stainless and welds are not crap they are way better than 99% of the headers I used to run when I was kid. hooker, headman, etc were all just steel.

honestly I put some shorties off ebay on a 39 chevy last year 304 stainless $129 worked awesome. good welds think flange so you statement is not 100% true. people like to throw info around but there are good affoardable product out there just make sure you read reviews. I will probabaly buy stainless power just to save $400 towards my injectors.

one option to think about is also used if your on a budget but want 100% made in the usa is used. these 304 headers like stainless works, AHR, kooks are really a lifetime product and the way people flip cars anymore it is kind of insane. buy $1500 headers drive teh car for 2 years then flip.

I bought a borla stinger exhasut for my Z06 with 300 miles on it for $700 saved me $750 and it was in perfect shape.

In my opinion, Headers are not something to go too cheap on. Nobody likes warped flanges, cracked welds, leaks etc..

Stainless Power headers are pretty good for the price, and that is what I would recommend if you are on a budget. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,
