I'm just going to throw out that I have not lost a race. I may have raced, I may not have. Don't think we're allowed to talk about that. But again, I've never lost a race.

The Cruze I drove wasn't quicker. The gearing was really weird. And the Cruze is an extra 400+ pounds, I think.

Well I know on the ecos it's a little different. They are lighter, have the turbo (not sure if the RS has it) and also has special rims and tires to lower weight and to get better gas mileage. But 6th gear is very sluggish in the cruze. Anytime I'm doing about 45 I have to shift up to third to pass a car.

Gearing or power really isnt a big factor as long as it can move when I want it to. Either car is nice. I would prefer the Cruze definitely, but budget may not allow me to get it, unless I can really talk the dealer down to 14k before taxes.

I test drove a LT RS M6. All the Cruzes have the 1.4, except the LS. I believe (what the salesman told me) the LT's have higher gears than the ecos. The 1LT is 3102 pounds according to the Chevy website. It doesn't say the weight for an eco. The Sonic LT is 2712 pounds.
My 6th gear is really sluggish until about 55. I still downshift to pass unless I'm doing about 70+ though.

Anyone find it hard to get up and go from lets say, 'pulling out of a parking lot'?

I'm 16, I felt that the Sonic was designed more for a teenager rather than an adult and the Cruze was designed for an adult.Though the Cruze is nice, I think my Sonic looks a little sportier.

It really doesn't look half bad tbh. I think either car will be good for what I'm wanting. Again, it's going to be a daily driver, so as long as it's safe and gets me where i want to go I'm happy

In the right sunlight, you really see the metallic to the black to where it looks like a dark grey. It looks great!
I think the car will look a lot better after I tint the windows.

Only the Eco has the 1.4L turbo. The others have a DOHC 1.8L NA motor. The Eco weighs in around 2900-3000 pounds so about 50-150 pounds more than a sonic depending on the model.

And I don't find if difficult at all. the cruze gets going pretty well in first and second. I usually like to avoid situations where I pull out in front of other cars because you never know what can happen to that left foot in a split second.

The LS only has the 1.8, the rest have the 1.4.

Sorry I take that back. I wonder if that's been changed because I thought the 1.4 was for the Eco.
