My car has the worst new car orange peel I have ever seen! My dealer said thats how it goes... I am starting with a case at GM customer service and I hope they help otherwise it my take a class action suit to get eveyone help. I have seen most of the local cars here and mine and two others are unacceptable in my opinion, "thats 30%" but they had me over a barrel as a preorder lay down since everything else about the car is great.

I was wondering about the paint job on my IOM...no orange peel, or fish eyes (ha ha), but there is SO much dirt in the paint it looks like it was done in a regular body shop booth. That and there are places where you can see where the runs were - practically a curtain of clear in the doorjamb. Not enough to make me not delivery or love it mind you - but, as someone who does bodywork - I was appalled...

I know that my RJT is different shades from the body of the car vs the front bumper. Dealer says because from fenders back, sheet metal and the front and bumper are fiberglass. They can try to match, but he recommends leaving it factory paint. WTF, 40K and this is their response. How come the vette's don't have this problem with the fiberglass. So far I have only seen this with the RJT.

The front and rear bumper/fascias, rocker panels, spoiler and gas access door are polyurethane. The hood is aluminum. The rest of the body panels are galvanized steel panels. The poly pieces are painted in a different factory

All everyone does is bitch about imperfections on a mass produced American car. The price is awsome, the power is mind blowing, great technology, head turner galore and someone complains about alittle orange peel? Most vehicles have some kinda imperfections in the body but those cars may also be over what we are paying for a car like this.
Shut up and be glad you're driving in a new Camaro.... wish I was.
You'll probably complain that the sky is too blue next.

Just because "most" other vehicles have imperfections, less hp, or whatever, does not mean that GM has to do it as well. GM: "Mom, I need to stop making a better product because 'Whoever' is selling lots of cars that are not as good as mine. Seems like the public will buy almost anything as long as the advertising is good." GM's mom: "Honey, if 'Whoever' jumped off a bridge, would you follow?"

Was at the Benz dealer the other day and was pondering getting a used CLS 550 black, No orange peel in that one or any other Black Benz on the lot.
