18's or 20's for better performance. 22's for looks. It's pretty simple. What do you want from the car?

Im stuck with this decision aswell. Im curious on how much more weight will 22s be than 20s. Do people with 22s feel the weight on a v6?? And is it hard to re-calibrate the mph dial. The diameter of the wheel will make your car seem its goin faster right?

You only have to recal speedos if you change the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combo. Going up in size of wheel but going down in sidewall height allows you to maintain at least very close to the same diameter and keep your speedo pretty much true. At least that is my understanding of it.

Hmm makes sense. Thanks
Now what about that weight on an already obese sportscar

I have 22's and get tons of compliments. Granted, you have to be careful to avoid pot holes. It was pretty confusing in regards to tire size and so forth but after reading the forum and asking questions, I was able to determine what I thought would be best for me. They are all season tires, but I still put my blizzacks on in the winter.

Yes, there is an increase in weight with 22's. The amount depends on the wheel you purchase. If this is a concern stay with 20's.

If your gonna race then 20's. I have 22's dropped on pedders Xa's and love the ride quality. Yeah you loose some performance but I'm looking to race everyone that pull up to me.

I love the look of my GM 21s. They seem to be the perfect size and a compromise between looks and functionality. The tires are a bit pricey though. Pics on my profile and in my sig pic. I wouldn't go any larger than 22s though...

IMHO 20s are the way to go if you want the looks and a decent 60' time (18s are even better haha). I haven't seen anyone on here claiming better times at the track because of 22s. But for looks alone, 22s with a drop do look nice.

OP...... your not going to get any real answers from anyone in here...you can ask ten people the same question and you will get ten different opinions/answers... its all a matter of what you want your car too look like and perform like.... MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE was 22'S because I do not like big sidewall tires on lowered cars....some do look good, but I personally like lower profiles..... You will loose ALITTLE take off performance on 22's. yes you will....correct me if I am wron your not turning your V6 into a drag/track car are you? 20's, 22's,18's...you can make them all look good with the reight personal touches.....just my 2 pennies bro....

I went from 18s to 22s and glad I did. My personal pref was more for looks and not so much for racing. As stated above you will loose some performance esp at take off but I installed a VMAX ported TB which helped.
