One question, if I may. The taller folks...are you saying the interior designers took this into account when building the seats (kina like your comment, you are really sitting down low, etc.)? Again, I'm 6'3" and want to make sure my knees won't be on the dashboard!

6'4" here...same concerns...I really hope I fit comfortably into my future 3-seater

B-E-Autiful i re-watched it again this time with my ipod ear phones, and now im speechless. the car sounds simply amazing, nice deep tone exhaust note, and like i said it sticks to the road like a champ. i simply cannot wait for this thing to hit the showroom floors so i can drive it, before it see its new home

Never been a fan of reading every single post, so forgive me if someone already posted this:

I noticed something, or actually a lack of something: Body roll. To me that spells H-E-A-F-T-Y sway bar.

Thanks for the clip, Tran! Great stuff!!
+2

My thoughts exactly, there was too much tire noise/other cars(if I ever win the lotto I'm getting an Aston...)to really hear what the 'maro sounded like on the track, however, it does seem to stick quite well in the corners....

You have to pay close attention to see it.

Cool.

You know for the life of me, I can't remember if it was in this forum or another that I was looking at last December where someone that was 6'4 got into the Concept Camaro and stated he had no problem. I remember it so well as I am 6'0 and I was thrilled that I would have no problem. Now the roof was raised a little in the pre-production so that is a plus but I don't know where I saw that posting. Maybe one of the vets recall?

Also I love the vid, I can see where some think it's the V6, I don't care, I just love knowing it's a Camaro and pretend the audio is me taking it for a spin.

I found this link on a different thread, courtesy of camaro5.

http://www.5thgen.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1749

The blogger it links to made the following claim: "Tall people need not worry about fitting in this car, probably 99% of people will fit in it comfortably."

This guy doesn't look very tall, but let's hope he's right. At 6'5", and a previous owner of a single cab compact truck, the last thing I want is to be cramped again. However, if you drive fast enough, it just might push you back into your seat. Done, and done.

Yes but the 135 starts at $35K, weighs almost as much as the 3 series (and pretty close to that 3800 lbs mark) and will cause way more maintenance headaches too. First, we don't know the Camaro's weight but it should be south of 3800 lbs. Secondly you're looking at 400+ hp stock for around $30K or less. If you look at it just from a power and weight perspective, a stock $30K Camaro will give you the same power that a 135 and mods worth $40K all together for nearly the same weight. I wouldn't expect the 135 to handle much better either.

Well i love the sound and the speed, but the handling definately needs to be tweeked... either that or the driver just wasn't as good as i expected him to be. the car seemed to have some trouble getting the power back down at the apex of the corner. but that is why they have it here at the ring. get it right boys i want something that can tear the tarmac to shreds!!!

no doubt in my mind either. that thing was an absolute rocket. the suspension did seem kinda soft, but then again, think about the conditions. i'm sure most 'maros won't ever see stuff like the Nurburgring, but i want it to handle amazing nonetheless!

A bit off topic, but kind of on topic... (wow thats confusing... )

Is it possible that the G8 in the vid was the GXP?

We should grab some of those Nurbrigring badges to stick on the grills of our 5th-gens to say it's track approved. Something that will make the 5th-gen hard for Bimmerboys and their toys to scoff at.

BOOO!!

Is this the poor excuse for a Camaro we are going to get?

First off, it sounds like a 4 or a 6 cylinder, and no I am not just saying that to get people mad, It truly does.

Second, some videos make it look slower than Christmas and others make it look like its leaping off of the ground, it seems as if, by pavement and time of day, this was several different versions of a " Black Camaro"

Last, getting your can whipped like that by a Prissy Convertible Porsche, which was NOT a 4S, if you slow the video down to look, it was a 2S, is SAD SAD SAD. My old 1992 RS 25th Anniversary would take a Porssche to the edge and if I would have had more motor, it woulda have inked them a new badge.

This car has more tire noise than a Hyundai Accent and more body roll than a 89 Mustang GT.

Lord, I hope the production version is better than this!

P.S., I used to help build Panoz Esperante's and know a few things about tuning, handling, and track testing... This video is simply embaressing, as a former Camaro-lover... Long live my '07 Mustang GT (My first Ford, thanks to GM).

Bad idea. Even if you've got your heart set on a 'stang now (Over a single video? come on now..) you should at least wait for the revamp.
