AFM disable(RANGEV8) and CAI Intake w/ exhaust

So after having my camaro for about 3 weeks I grew tired of the AFM, especially after having Jerry (IdealG) install dynomax exhaust and having a farting machine lol I ordered the Rangev8 to disable this and all I can say is why didnt i do this earlier!? I love it and i get to show off my exhaust a lot more without the embarrassing fart noise lol I have noticed that I havent gone through gas as much and Ive gone up about 1.7 mpgs although ive only had this for about a week. It has me wondering what was the point of AFM? Anyway, today my dashboard lit up today and kind of panicked until i remembered members having the same problem. I turned off my car to remove it and kept driving. The lights eventually turned off so I guess ill be plugging in the Range device after turning the car on....Anyway, on to the intake...

I ordered a Cold Air Inductions intake from JDP Motorsports(dads camaro) and the same intake from Chase of Apex Motorsports. I received mine today and of course I had to install it once I got it, especially since its my birthday . This baby looks so clean and flush I love it! Even had a few cop friends stop by to check it out and they loved it! Took it out for a spin... ok maybe a long spin but I could feel the difference in power and love it! Sucks I cant hear the whistle or anything but its ok ill live lol. Thanks Chase and Adam for my new products!

Very nice congrats. I got the same setup. MPG does seem better with intake an Range. I too had that issue with brake light and ABS signs. Mine also beeped like it does with the key in ignition and door open. This was about 3 maybe 4 wks ago and hasnt happened again. Seems it could be a mis read when the Range turns and and ignition is hit. Makes sense since the Range has on/off logic.

Mine works fine. I heard that Range has an update to correct some earlier anomalies.

Do it right and tune it out, with a tune and your gonna wish you hadn't spent the money on that after you drive a tuned L99.

This device must leave some kind of evidence that it was used. I'm sure a savvy tech at GM could figure out if the car's programming was tampered with.

This has been tested already. One of our very own members from c5 actually said f it and took their ride to the dealer and had them scan the ecu.

[QUOTE=nyrfan;6415787]Great news! I was just at the dealer and had them scan my ECM. Even with a couple of start ups with the lights there is no record at all. The only thing stored was a low voltage at some point and that was probably from a recent fuse pull I did.

Tune if you want to; Range if you want to.
It's totally OK.
