Back from the painter - Rare Mod

I picked up my car from the painter today (you can see more pics in my build thread). This pic shows a direct side shot of my car with a mod that isn't done very often. Some will hate it I'm sure, but do you see it?

No. He removed the indents for the gills in the rear fenders.

I like that. Two things that bother me are the pointless mailslot, and the "gills"

Thanks!

I wasn't a fan of the gills and thought why not, I'll make a retro '68. LOL

It's subtle but helps make it different.

Thank you very much.

I was already having the entire car repainted so while he was at it, I had him fill in the gills for an additional $200.

Fill? As in body filler/ bondo? Or cut out and remove and weld in a smooth panel

I'm not sure..I'll have to ask him. It's one of the only parts of the work I didn't get pictures of.

I told him I wanted it smooth and that is what I got.

Looks good. Since the OP said he got it back from the painter I wasn't looking for any changes to the body. Good catch.

I'm sure they filled them in and painted over it.
