This is just sad. I keep reading about wrecked ZL1s and 13-500s, there is always an excuse for the wreck it's never the driver's fault. Makes you wonder.

Just because you can afford a ZL1 or a GT500, it does not mean you have the ability to drive one. Becareful out there. Everytime there is a new one of these wrecks posted I put the photo as the screen saver on my computer to remind me that on those rare opportunitys I get to drive mine that it just takes an instant to screw up in something this powerful. After personally witnessing a SuperSnake get destroyed in three seconds , yes there is a video, I have a great understanding of how quick things can go wrong. I personally am careful about where I unleash my camaro.

You must own one judging by your expertise. If not then common sense would tell you that the handling/speed is not as a Cruze. The tires alone on the ZL1 on dangerous to drive on in cold temps. If your going to compare then start with your ride comparing that to a Cruze. Now THAT my friend would be a situation where you couldn't fix stupid. ZL1 is pretty damn wild but then again you own one, right?

I think the biggest problem with these cars is the people who buy them. What I mean by that comment is having the experience when it comes to having lots of HP. You get someone in a car like this that doesn’t respect the HP under the hood and this is the end result.

This is starting to become a common occurrence with these cars.

Makes me glad that I have owned the cars that I have. I've owned a drag prepped 64 Plymouth Fury that due to skinnies on the front and high HP made this car a handfull to handle. My 69 supercharged Vette was a dream to drive. It had old school handling though and you had to think ahead and manage speed and breaking accordingly. Both my 76 280Z and 2010 370Z where handling cars due to modified suspensions and limited HP. My ZL1 has great handling and impressive HP. I now have 580 RWHP and would really appreciate some professional driving lessons. Was going to go to Watkins Glen this weekend for those but the school was full.

Are you sure that's a ZL1? It has an off-center stripe on the roof and the calipers aren't black.

Plus, my ZL1 has two front wheels, and that car only has one.

I think that a Z06 would have a hard time vs. the ZL1, as the Camaro will outrun every Z06 that I have read tests of. That is on the track, it has a good bit more horses. It is the ZR1 that would outrun the ZL1
