How Accurate is "Targeted Production Week"?
Counting the days for receiving my 2SS/RS and have a question for those already having received delivery... I ordered on 6/10/09, order was accepted by GM Production Control on 6/24/09, and I've now been given a "targeted production week" of 7/27/09. Is the production week estimate reasonably accurate in most cases? Any significant chance that production might not happen until after the targeted week (or, best case scenario, could production ever occur before the targeted week)? Thanks in advance for any informative replies on this topic...

It's usually within 10 days of the TPW. We've had 8 come and go now and they've all been within that time frame.

It should be built during the TPW or the week after. Thats the standard expectation. After that, people wonder whats going on.

I had a TPW of 6/29 and was build on 7/2. They seem to be dead on with their schedule.

The date of a TPW is always a Monday date. It means that your car will be completed some time that week. QC hold, sitting in the yard waiting for transport and shipping are separate. Sometimes the first cars off the line on a Monday or right after a pick up may ship later because they are buried by the newer ones coming off the line. Kind of like a first in last out type of deal. Its all luck.

Completed. It takes a few days to produce each car as they run through the line.

I didn't make the "cut" this week... so it's a tad off. However, it looks like I was one of the last to go 3400 in this TPW batch.
