Resetting TPMS Tire Pressure System

ok, I have not seen this posted anywhere and I think this might be a common question as more take delivery of their camaros. I just put 20 inch wheels from an SS on my base LS. After driving for 10 miles, I get the Tire Pressure System needs service warning. My guess is I need to take it to the dealer to reset and program each wheel into the vehicle computer since pressure is monitored at each wheel--by switching wheels, it is throwing off the system I guess. Anyone else have this problem.

Not had that problem but you should be able to just take it to your local tire dealer and they could do that in a few minutes. You could do it yourself if you have access to an air supply if it is like other GM vehicles. You would need to put the car into Learn Mode for the TPMS by setting the parking brake gong to the pressure section in the DIC and hold the reset button until the car honks twice. At this point you can either let air out of each tire going LF RF RR LR order or putting air into them same order. This will match the new sensors to your computer. Do not do this if you do not have access to an air supply to properly reinflate your tires. I bet if you live near a Discount Tire Store they would do it for free. Just my guess but they are great people and the dealership will probably charge you for it.

I have a tire monitor that isn't working at all, every time I start the car I get the low tire warning and it shows my front right tire is flat. I called the dealer and they said it just needs to be reprogrammed. I asked if it was something I could do but they told me it had to be done at the dealer.

Unless there is something new about the sensors over previous year GM vehicles it does not take much to train the vehicle. That is all it needs is retraining to find the new sensors.

OP what did you do?
