Any experience with Vengeance Racing Stage IV Camshaft?
The title says it all. I am hoping someone here might have experience with this camshaft and can say if it is worth it. Sounds like the last most powerful cam I can use before having to go to a complete engine rebuild. Going to have to have a custom CNC'd head as well I know, as well as valves, springs, lifters, etc.

I know you'll see reports stating otherwise, but you really could spend your money better somewhere else besides CNC'd heads...WCCH had an article in GMHTP (i think) a while back on a LS3 vette from Redline Motorsports that made 35rwhp...but it was with a HUGE cam. Most shops are seeing 10-20rwhp tops...and heads are usually $1800+...I think I could find a cheaper HP/$ mod than that...
I hope they soon prove otherwise, but search the C6 vette forums...ALOT of folks are saying CNC LS3 heads on a stock shortblock are not worth the $$. JMHO FLAME away ![]()

I have looked for that article, and the site for WCCH and could not find any information on the Camaro, just generics about the LS3. The Vengeance once is the first I could find with prices.
Keep in mind this is going on top of a s/c, LT headers, CAI and fuel upgrades. If I *HAVE* to I will go to a complete engine package but am hoping to get away from that. - SK

Actually if you look around you will find the article in GMHTP with the WCCH install at RedLine Motorsports. The LS3 test bed was an 08 C6 M6 using our Stage IV camshaft. The car made 490s on stock heads and made 518 (I think) using the WCCH cylinder heads.
That being said, if you are going forced induction there is ZERO reason to modify your current heads. Install a blower friendly camshaft and the stock heads will be more than adequate for your combo. Remember, cylinder heads are more important on NA combos where they are responsible for the amount of air entering the engine, with forced induction the air is being "forced" thru the cylinder heads making flow #s less critical. If you have any other questions or we can help you out with any part of your combo dont hesitate to give us a call. Ron Last edited by Ron@Vengeance; 07-07-2009 at 10:18 PM. |

To the OP...it makes no difference if its vette LS3 or Camaro...your answer is the same. They are not different engines, and mods on both motors will create the same crank/flywheel hp, the only difference in the rwhp production between the 2 platforms would be differences in drivetrain losses in hp. Ron is telling you right, on FI your good with stock heads...they flow VERY well.
