I'd say order. Then you can get it as stripped as you want. And don't let anyone talk you into buying something you can't afford or don't want! Take your time if you have to.

Different seat cloth pattern, power seats, sans fog lights and aluminum wheels than the 1LT. For the price, I thought the 1LS was well worth it.

LS Camaro

GM database is listing ONE LS in Florida--Pete Moore Chevrolet in Pensacola. Aqua Blue MN6 (manual) and spare tire. MSRP $23,250. Good luck. If you want another option, let me know.

LOL no Indpowr you did not scare me away! I signed off pretty much after I made that second post yesterday as I got up early to run a 5K race! And yes it was quite a bad sunburn - I was suffering for days! And the cute pup is Bella - my spoiled Mini Aussie!

So we made it to two Chevy dealers today. The first one they had 3 SS's, 2 Manuals in the showroom, 1 already being sold, and 1 automatic. The guy I talked to said they were not taking any more orders as their branch was going to be shut down in the upcoming months. So no go there.

The next we went to only had a SS in the showroom. The guy I talked to, Carlos, stated that they could order me an LS no problem and it would take 30-45 days. I told him I wanted to get some figures because I was still shopping around and wanted to make sure I got the best deal. The first thing that turned me off and made me wonder how the hell he even graduated high school was when he asked me where else we were going to look and I stated "Michigan" as my Dad will be back up there next week, he's like Michigan? That is north right? Where is that? Ummm hellooo! We are in Florida, is there anything further south than Florida? LMAO

He says for me to print off the LS I want from the Chevy website, with the MSRP listed and bring it and they'll give to me for MSRP. Then he goes and talks to his little man behind the special counter (so gay with these higher ups at dealers, I swear) and comes back and says they are marking up the LS's $1000 and the SS's $5000. I looked at him and told him he was crazy and I would be taking my business elsewhere. So off we went. That dealer also did not have one to test drive.

Why in the world would I order a car without taking it for a test drive to make sure I like it 100%? I mean I'm sure I'll love it no problem, but I'd still like to get a feel for it, ya know?

The second dealer I went to with the markups was Courtesy Chevy, and that's listed in the post it with offering them at MSRP or under so I'm not sure if that should be changed? I don't know, maybe I could have gotten them to get rid of the mark up had I actually ordered...not sure.

Thank you to everyone that has responded - I couldn't believe the response! I'd like to think it's a combination of all of you being so friendly and also another female in the midst! LOL j/k!

Alright now that I've written a novel I'll end this. Going to check out a couple more local dealers on Monday before I head into work. I tried to check that database thingy that someone listed, the spasticsquirrel website but when I went to change the filters it kept messing up. So I'll have to check it again later.

I hope you all have a great night!! And to the one that said you'd share your camaro with me that would be wonderful! I have a lead foot and like to drive fast so I hope that's ok!

I've seen quite a few at some dealers here in DFW. I thought about getting one originally b/c I like the heritage wheels. But I wanted the C&C package and I like the spoiler, halos, and MS rims more so I am getting the 1LT RS.

Yep, the spasticsquirrel web site seems to have a mind of its own. lol

You might have to try it a few times before it works right. After you make a selection in any of the filters you have to wait until it's done searching before selecting another filter.

Glad to hear that Jen...

I was poking around your website which is how I found the info...

Dealers here are a PIA! One did let the wife test drive one prior to May 6th.

I bought our car from Mich. There are a lot of LTs around you just have to look for it. I always liked the challenge. Shipping charge was 795 for an enclosed trailer.

Yep PIA is right!!

I just saw by browsing through other posts that Avis rents them? I checked the Orlando International Airport and with a coupon it's $161 (which includes taxes) to rent an LT for ONE day!! I'm half tempted to do it just so I can drive it around a whole day, wherever I want and not that dinky little route dealers always take you on.

$795 for delivery is not bad! My Dad is retired with nothing to do but golf so he might be on some searching missions for me for the next couple weeks! If I do happen to find one up there though I'll probably just fly up there and drive it back home with my Dad and then he'll fly back. It'd be a fun excuse to head home and see the other relatives I haven't seen in the couple years since I moved down here.

I did some comparisons with the LS and LT and it's only like a $1500 difference. The only option I need added is for it to be an automatic. If I can swing an extra $1500 I would love to lean towards the LT as the nav system and fog lights are growing on me although I think the BF would have an offical heart attack if I got a car over $25K - he's already jealous up to his eyebrows I'm even talking about getting a Camaro! LOL

Ok yes - it really is bed time now!

Have a great night everyone!

Now I'm a 27 year old female, unmarried, no kids, who can only afford so much. While I would love to have an SS it just doesn't fit the budget right now. I do not need all the bells and whistles and the LS fits in my price range. I'm not crazy about the wheels but they are minor to me and something that I can definitely change down the line when I have some money saved up. I do like the 1LT so if I found it at a really good price somewhere I might be able to bump up to that.

Now my question is, after reading in one thread that the figure of LS's was something around 217 out of the 22,000+ made - what are the odds of finding one on a lot somewhere? Or am I going to have to order it? I see the majority of you have ordered your cars and have gotten them or are still waiting to receive them - sounds like it can be a lengthy - but worth it process!

Any help, guidance, thoughts, etc would be wonderful! My Dad is in town for the next couple days so I'm hoping maybe tomorrow we can drive up to a few Chevy dealers and see if I can find one to test drive. He's my loan officer so I need his approval.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th!
Jen

All I can say is where have you been all my life?

Will you marry me?

If you can afford the SS go for it if your on a budget and worried about gas prices go for the LT1 or LT2 (If you like leather. I know if I saw a cute chick in 2010 Camaro SS I would probably pass out.

Update

So my Dad went out to the three Chevy dealers located in my hometown of Grand Rapids. He went to Berger and they were closed so he's going to check that out tomorrow, along with Kool which was also closed. The one that was open was one in Holland, Michigan. He said when he walked in and talked to a sales girl she HAD NO IDEA WHAT A CAMARO WAS!!!!!!!! Then he said he found another sales man to talk to who claimed that they didn't have any more on the lot and they HAD ALREADY SOLD 10,000 CAMAROS SO THEY WOULDN'T BE GETTING ANYMORE ANYTIME SOON.

Wow. He said he walked out of the dealer after hearing that pile of crap. Hopefully he has better luck at the other two dealers tomorrow!

I'll keep y'all updated!
