CR is great if you want to buy a vacuum. I buy Motor Trend/Car and Driver/Road and Track if I want accurate road test information.

Does anybody here on C5.com understand why CR hasn't asked them to give their opinion on this sub-genre? Biased, I'm sure, but you would think that a good percentage of car enthusiasts know the difference between which car is "fun to drive".
Simple answer. You have to be a CR member to contribute. So CR recommends Toyota, Honda, etc. The members who subscribe to CR listen and buy the products that CR recommends. Then report back to CR in these polls. So.... if CR never recommends Chevy, you'll find too small of a sample size to be considered scientifically accurate. They'll have no trouble reporting that Chevy always tests poorly, of course. Never explaining to the avg. Joe that buys their magazine exactly how flawed their testing methodology is.... The same company that gave the brand new Cruze a below avg. score for predicted reliability and therefore would not recommend it to buyers. What did they recommend? Corolla. What a joke. Anyway, if the review is favorable or unfavorable to Chevy I don't see that impacting sales in the slightest. Your average Pony/Muscle Car buyer is not a CR subscriber and will probably openly ridicule any CR subscriber who parrots their bile. Consumer Reports educate, (see indoctrinate), the uneducated. Those who know better, however don't read, relate or endorse CR. O - Not Recommended.

I had read that a CR exec. is married to a TOYota exec.,hence the bias against GM. MotorTrend had said the Mustang was funner to drive(sightlines),but chose the Camaro overall. They called the Mustang a scalpel and the Camaro a sledge hammer.

This only proves one thing. Ford spends more money advertising in Consumer Reports than Chevy does.

Consumer Reports doesn't necessarily represent the buying public's taste as confirmed by sales numbers. |

CR? They were touting Toyota just before the recall abyss a couple of years back.
No credibility. PS- I looked at the Mustang before I bought the Camaro. The "new" Mustang still looks too much like the 2005. The Ford "Grabber" blue and "Got to Have it" Green weren't my cup of tea either. Reminded me of the old Earl Scheib colors of the 1950s. Guaranteed against fading for 5 years. |

When your using an older platform your costs have been already been re-couped. The Stang is lighter and has about the same power, but I bet their owners would love to have GM's manual transmissions instead of the made in China crap they have now. BTW footwell and cup holder lighting couldn't possibly change my driving experience

yahoo news- less than reputable source- reporting on a biased magazine that produces questionable results. Yeah. I'll buy that for a dollar
