Why would you suggest avoiding Magnacharger?

i'm sorry but i've never even heard of techno until now. I'd get Magna before i'd get techno. just my opinion. i'd like to see techno release a 2.3L kit like magna's just for comparison. aint gonna happen. its good to have options out there but as of right now, between the 4 FI choices out, all being s/c's, 2 being PD and 2 being centri's my vote will be magna. proven over 500whp bolt on, and capable of producing much more... i'd still get magna over a KB too. over whipple tough choice lol. it would come down to my whp goals.

I just wish magna or whipple made a 2.3L kit for the ls1 f-body. come on, 3/4" k-member drop, modified motor mounts to lower the engine a lil more, and it will fit. GT500 guys do it to fit the whipple 3.3's. I'll chop a lil off the cowl as well. come on blown chevy, convince late model speed to make a 1.9 or 2.3L kit for the ls1 f-bod. send em a kit please

Remember the Magnacharger is a roots style supercharger while the KB/Whipple/Techno's are all twin screw superchargers.

Basically I would my decision based on if I wanted a roots or twin screw supercharger. The difference is very minimal if nothing at all now between the two (roots/twin screw) so you really can't go wrong with either one. If you want a roots style supercharger there is really only one way to go. If you want a twin screw there are a few different notable venders. KB's and Whipple's twin screw have minimal differences. Techno's actually intakes air in through the front and is reversed revolution. At least that is what I have noticed in my research, please correct me if I am wrong.

If the bad-mouthing in this thread doesn't stop, action will be taken against offenders. The Mods' have no bias for OR against any of the companies listed in this thread, however, if the bashing of Magnuson, or any other company doesn't stop, action will be taken.

Don't twin screws have a noticeably different sound, also? Can't say that I've heard one in person before.

exactly my point, if i'm going to spend 6+ grand on a supercharger i'm going to want to go with a company thats been supercharging cars for years, and know what they're doing, not a company that is new to the game. they might be a good company, but i'd feel comfortable going with a company thats been out for a while.

they are louder then the new TVS, but quieter then the old roots setups. well depending on what size twinscrew you get lol. personally i love hearing the supercharger whine. when i had a cobalt SS supercharged, i put an Injen intake on it. and boy did i get complements on the s/c whine. it sounded Devilish.

GOD. The Whipple/KB SC'd Cobras around here sound absolutely sick at the track. You can't hardly hear the exhaust over the shriek of the tires, and even more whine. It's awesome!!!
