Well I must be ignorant because I enjoy reading his posts.
![]() To the OP, that was a very wise decision on your part to have had the wherewithal to have fled the scene to preserve yourself as well as your beloved Camaro

![]() It would have been interesting to hear the response if OP had drawn down on the guy with a CCW. I'll bet he would have enough mental capacity to drop the hammer.

90% of the homeless are mentally ill. but regardless, you pull out a gun and shoot someone your going to jail. no telling what they'll decide to charge you with, if anything. but you can't, in a lawful society, pull out a gun and shoot someone because you feel threatened.

OP says he had no money, so can't throw homeless guy any cash!
Quick legal, gunless solution: right turn on red (if no sign preventing)

The key is to fight force with equal force. By pulling out your CCW and shooting him, you'll have to explain why you thought shooting someone who had a hammer was justified.
I'm glad you stomped on the gas and got outter there. I woulda called the cops and let them look into it, but in the heat of the moment, you probably wasn't thinking about that option. Mind controlled by Cerebro

Really 90%... I would like to read that study and understand that statistic.

yep, happened in the 80's. back then, the mentally ill were forcibly institutionalized. but groups like the ACLU decided it was cruel and not fair, and basically got the laws changed where unless it was proven someone was an imminent threat to themselves or someone else, they could not be held. that basically led to the release of most mentally ill persons, and the closing of most mental health facilities. they in turn, ended up on the streets. not 90%, that's hyperbole. but it is somewhere between 40 and 50%, depending on the city and the study. we now have a system where the mentally ill can not be forced into treatment, taken off the streets, or even forced to take their medication. this was all in the news after sandyhook. how we had gone from one extreme to the other Last edited by jd10013; 05-06-2013 at 09:24 AM. |

I'm still trying to figure out why shooting a guy is even an option? It's a human life people. Tough guy talk aside, I'd hope that nobody would actually consider this instead of the flight option or police call.
