Listen to me very carefully.
First, I don't know who thinks the vette is an old man car. I like them a lot, don't have one, only drove one briefly at Indy in 08, but I think they are cool Second, I was exactly like you, I did not want the sunroof because I felt like the reverse mohawk was unique. But, everything else about the car I found was perfect, so I bought it. And guess what, when it's warm out, the sunroof gets opened. Yes it's sturdy and no it doesn't leak. I personally have never heard of a widespread case of factory sunroofs leaking. Aftermarket ones yet, but not factory. Corvette an Camaro are two different animals, what is going to make you happy is the only question you have to answer

I searched all of Canada, as far as I know, and have only come up with 2 1LE's and they both have a sunroof. If anyone knows of any in Canada without a sunroof, please let me know. I think I decided against both vettes. If I ever get a vette, I would much rather it be a c7 in a few years. I also think I decided against the ctsv. It's amazing but I don't want an auto and I really don't love it enough to see what the used market brings in the next few weeks and months.
So it leaves me with the 1LE or the zl1. Obviously, I'd prefer the z but the 1le seems to be a decent trade off. I'm going to test drive the 1le with the sunroof and a zl1 today. We'll see what happens. |

The sunroof was one of the things I got in a similar situation to yours and it bothers me everyday that I am missing those extra inches of headroom.
I am not all that tall at 6'1" but I am all torso lol, and my head just RESTS on the roof even gangster leaning back. I have to tuck my butt all the way to the edge of the seat and sit leaning to the right to put my head in the raised area of the sunroof not to get it banged if there is a bump. Like others have said though, the thing is solid, never leaks or whistles and it makes the cabin feel very bright and open. Vacates heat with a quickness also. |

I have a sunroof and I love it. Very sturdy and works well and I think it looks pretty cool as well when it is open since it doesn't slide back into the roof but rather over it. I open it up every time I can, extremely glad I got it. (also it is nice to vent on hot days when parked)
I love the Z06. With the LS7 and tracking ability it really takes the "old man" image out of the car. But with the model change coming up who knows how well it will keep its styling and with the 1LE you still get a track car. |

I can't imagine mine without a Sunroof - to me it's like someone earlier mentioned, without one it seems confined. As a matter of fact we test drove both with/without one and my wife was sold immediately on the sunroof. I've been in this forum for well over a year and seen where no one complained about one leaking.

I personally never wanted a sunroof. Like you, I ended up finding a perfect Camaro with the exception it had a sunroof. Now that I have it, I love it.

I live in FL and use my sunroof all the time. No rattles or leaks and I love it.

I don't know.....I would say keep looking. Get someone like Becky@Rodgers Chevy to find you one and have it shipped to you. That might cost you a little more but in the long run you'll be happy. Get it the way you want and don't compromise. You might even have to buy a used one since the '14 are no bueno.
I would like a sun roof every now and then but the reality is that they take away some of your head room and if you ever look at the cut away drawings of the roofs of a Camaro with and without I think you would lean towards without just for rigidity. Just my take.

Where can I find Becky's contact info?
Nevermind! Got it. I just emailed her! The dealer was rammed today so I have an appointment to test drive the 1Le tomorrow at noon. I gotta say though, I really noticed the decrease in headroom and I'm 5'11. I'm hoping when I drive, my natural driving posture will leave a bit more room. The more I see how the CTSV coupe performs, the more I like.

If it fits in your budget, I'd get the Vette. But wait just a little longer and get the new C7 Vette. If your gonna spend over $50k for a car, don't get the end of the line of an outgoing model that has been out for 8 model years. You'll end up telling yourself "the C7 would have been nice" every time you see one.
