A picture is worth a thousand words. Even a beer can catches oil....and virtually and container you put inline on the dirtyside, but with any centri blower or turbo application where the intake manifold is pressurized if you do not run a dual valve system, the crankcase is not evacuated under boost. Just pressure is vented out the breather. Also, the "home depot/Lowes" $15 separtators for small air compressors cannot catch but 10-20% max of the oil (we teat all, and hundreds of posts with the results, pictures, and how to do the tests yourself so their is no debate, just facts). Yes, motors will live a good while without properly evacuating and trapping all the oil, but not as long or as well as one done correctly. ![]() SO, if have invested a good amount of $ in your car/truck, and then spent another $7-8k to modify it with a great FI system (which the ECS system is), then why skimp on something so inexpensive and take the risk? The dual valve system is the oNLY system on the market (short of a belt driven vacuum pump) that provides proper crankcase evacuation during both boost and non boost operation, and vents nothing to the engine compartment, and traps all, or nearly all the oil from ingestion via the intake tract and the detonation and carbon buildup this causes. Then you have the damaging combustion byproducts left to accumulate in the eninge oil and cause accelerated wear of the bearings, journals, and other internal components. Just do an oil analysis and see. So in closing, trapping just 10-20% of the oil ingestion VS all, or nearly all.......how can this be a wise choice in protecting such a huge investment?

Bay is a little messy at the moment but here is a pic of where I put the can and where the overflow tank is. I also moved the evap solenoid under the fuse box perch as well.

Blake thanks for posting the picture. That would work if I change the filter out from the stock unit.

You are welcome. I used the stock stud for one end of the tank and on the other I drilled a hole and used a sheet metal screw. On both ends I just used some flat aluminum stock with holes in each end.

The marketing toss from RX is laughable. Anyway, what ecs has works fine if used as intended and emptied out. I'm running two elite cans and working out mounting myself. Basically I know it was more money but it's clean,Vince capacity and I am covering both sides. I am debating on ditching the vortech air intake and slapping a filter ecs style on the blower. That would in turn give me a big vacant area for catch cans.

So clueless.....but ignorance can be bliss to the uneducated. The small air compressor separators allow most of the oil to pull right through full or not. Try and install a clear glass fuel filter after it and see for yourself. With FI you certainly want no oil ingesting into the intake air charge. Then why run the Elite cans? And explain in detail how you are evacuating during both boost and non-boost. Just a detail of the flow and exit. |

I was laughing at the sales pitch, not your knowledge. I don't have time for a wise crack. Let's help the OP.

Good reply. Picture in post#10 shows where we mount most using the short Z bracket. Can also fit near the brake booster as well.

on that note...if you are running a single can, that location in post 10 is awesome for serviceability as well.

Im running the 2 hose single can, I had the can be4 I put the sc on. I thought it was better then the one given in the kit untill I could get the 3 line can. Havent really drove the car much since putting the kit on but what problems are there for running the 2 line vs the 3
