Slow starting - new starter
My car has had a slow starting issue for some time. I dropped my car off at the dealership 3 times for the problem, but each time they said it was the battery (purchased two new batteries)
Then this last time (a week ago), the dealership said my tune was the issue. ![]() So I called my tuner and he said, "no chance". So I purchased a new starter from GMpartsoutlet and had it installed. Now my car starts up instantly. I'm not sure why the dealership couldn't figure that out. ![]() I like my local dealership and they treat me good. But I'm a little worried by their lack of knowledge in figuring out my starting issue. |

When you get good service at a dealer you should try to find out the name of the tech and request them every time. Testing a starting system is the same as its been since cars were electrically started. We put a ammeter and a voltmeter on the car. I can watch to see how many amps the starter pulls while monitoring the voltage drop on the battery.
