Stock SS will pull all the way to 176 @ redline in 5th; you'll start to slow down again once you shift into 6th though, darn air resistance

I remember reading in a magazine or seeing on TV that it's around 174. I've had mine up to 141 in 4th gear and it had way more to go.

A Stock SS will hit about 174 and a stock ZL1 will hit about 180-184. Dose not sound right does it with the ZL1 having 154 more HP. BUT remember the ZL1 is designed for max downforse also it's drag coefficient is .387 the SS is .35 and the ZL1 has 300 more lbs to move around. Just wait tell the Z/28 is out some people will be mad that it will have a top speed right around the SS but it is set up to have even more downforse then the ZL1.
