This is what I went with, because they are a low profile. I ordered the dual cut outs and two turn downs.

For the M6 you need the ones for LS3, and for the A6 you use the ones for L99.

I would assume you would lose boost with the loss of back pressure on open cut-outs

No different than running headers, and there are no losses with them.

Depends on your situation, I didn't want to tune yet due to warranty and didn't want to deal with CEL. The OEM exhaust manifold flows really well, and the restriction is the cats.

I see.. What do you think would be better? Headers with cat delete. or Headers with high flow cats? not bashing or anything, just trying to learn a lil more

With the headers either way you will get a CEL, in your case probably just go with cat delete.

I will post video later, but had the QTP's installed last week!

Stage III build with American Racing headers and & QTP's really sounds like the gates of hell opening up, when you lay on it with the QTP's open!

In a four stroke engine cycle, intake, compression, ignition and exhaust, I don't understand how it is perceived that back pressure caused by restriction in the exhaust system has any positive affect on intake charge/boost during the intake stroke.

Rather, it seems, you would want negative back pressure (vacuum) in the overlap between the exhaust stroke and intake stroke so that it helps suck in more clean, unburnt air into the cylinder before the exhaust valve fully closes. It would seem that any positive back pressure in the exhaust stroke would either limit the volume of clean air in the charge or worse, allow burnt air/fuel back into the cylinder where it will reduce the quality of the charge.

Where did you purchase your cut outs? seems like a good place to locate them. Does the muffler shop have to cut a hole in the existing pipe to weld an adapter plate in ?
