Rate That Mod Day 16: Vmax CNC Ported Throttle Body
Alright! Here we are again for another day of Rate the Mod! The Scores So far!
Special thanks to PoorMansCamaro for the idea for linking scores to original threads! Anvil Notched Spoiler 9.21 Muffler Delete (V8) 8.29 Terminator CF Hood 3.89 Razzi Body Kit 2.30 Kooks LT Headers 9.47 NS-1 Stripe Package 7.46 Cold Air Inductions Intake 9.59 Plasti - Dip 8.15 MRT v2 9.38 ZL1 Bumper Swap 8.39 Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback 8.94 Rideskinz Aggressor 2 5.63 Sinister Hood 6.77 Muffler Delete (v6) 1.32 Ark DTS Catback 7.64 Alright another day of Rate That Mod, last mod we had under the microscope was the Ark DTS Catback, and looking at the score it did fairly well! Now for today's Mod. The Vmax CNC Ported Throttle Body. This mod isnt really looked at for its HP increase (which some people deny) but more so for its effect on throttle response. Since our vehicles have Drive By Wire Technology this particular mod can help alot with the lag in response from the throttle. My score is a 8/10! I also want to say that when applicable I will try to use pictures and videos to represent the mods in question just to give people an idea of what the mod is like if they do not already know. I pull these at random either from Google, YouTube or even this website. If you find that I have used something you submitted and want me to take it down please let me know and I will immediately! If you have any suggestions on what you would want to see next on Rate That Mod please let me know and send me a PM! ![]()

$150 + shipping + shipping your throttle body to them. Easy install. Did I notice anything? Meh.
2/10. |

10/10. Best mod I did to my LFX. Except for the supercharger, of course.

It won't score very high if you are expecting giant hp gains....If you buy it for what it's supposed to do...quicker throttle response, smoother idle...you won't be disappointed...

Unfortunately I had high hope for this mod with all the reveiws but, i really didn't feel a thing but i don't daily drive the car so maybe i would have noticed more if i drove the car more before and after (as its her daily driver) but i was wanting to feel something diffrent off the line at autocross but I just dont 3/10 i guess

If you have over 20k miles with out a properly functioning catchcan your intake valves could be coked with deposits to the point you dont notice much:http://www.google.com/search?q=intak...w=2021&bih=875 If thats the case, you wont notice much as the volumetric effeciency of of the intak ports and valve design has been so compromised. An upper induction cleaning service can help, but wont fix it completely. |
