Do I trade?
I have been talking to a dealer about trading my 2012 ss/rs a6 in on a 2012 zl1.
My car has 19 k miles and there offering me 29 for it. I paid 31 5 months ago. I had plans on building a motor and turbo etc to mine but have been contemplating on getting the Zl1 and doing a tune and pulley headers. I already have a g force 9 inch I bought from a member on here brand new so if I do end up going thru with this that'll be for sell as long as a few other things. My question for y'all is. Mod my ss or buy the zl1 and do minor mods. I will still be daily driving it |

Well, get the ZL-1. Its a much rarer car to the SS. My question is what mods would you do to the SS? What are you WANTING to do to the SS? For the money you'll spend to switch, you could install an LS7 into it plus a few suspension mods.

Honestly I would wait it out and see how much the Z28 will be and you might wanna trade up for a new car that is gunna be around 500hp and but if u really want the ZL1 and can afford it then go for it

Z28s are gonna be around 50k for a bare bones track car. Not worth it as a driver. I'd get the ZL1 personally

$50k you say? It'll be AT LEAST $15k more than that. The more wieght they strip, the more expensive it'll be. Right now, theyre at 3700lbs and some change? That alone is probably $5000.

You can't buy Magnaride for your SS.
So if you really want to go big then go with the ZL1.

ZL1, much more of a presence car than a supercharged SS. If you just want to track it, mod the SS though that way you get the power you want exactly how you want it.

I think after all the markup's you would be lucky to get a z/28 for $70k. If you mod your SS, it will still be just an SS and will loose money on the mods. I say get the ZL1, only takes a few bolton's to make a beast that will still be a good DD. IMO ...

I was going to say if you mostly just want to drag race it go with the SS, but if you are going to track it at all go with the ZL1
However, the right tuner can turn a ZL1 into 690hp for $1400, that is literally a price quote from someone, but then they wanted $1100 for another thing to complement the up grade, so call it $2500 out the door. But you can go any direction you want with that car.

YES!! trade for the ZL1.
Once you get a little bored with it then you can send it over to ADM and have him work it into one of these monsters.http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293318
