I have a Bell motorcycle helmet I'm using. Snell 2010 approved. I think I got it for around 100 bucks if I remember correctly.

Yeah, my 2005 is a HTC open faced with visor. Got it for $65 when they were switching to the 2010's

We'll see. I've been thinking about it. I'd like to do the Auto Cross I think...but what are the requirements? Do I need to have a helmet, etc? Because I definitely don't have any of that.

In all honesty I'm mostly excited about the cruise/car show

Anyone know if you can drag with an open face helmet? Or at what time you need a jacket, gloves, etc? I may need to hit the NHRA rule book before I order my brain bucket.

There is info on the Famosoraceway.com/Superchevy website....It's a little vague on where exactly we will fit in....Only thing drag-specific I noticed was that if you have a 9 second car, you must have a 9-second driver's license....lol...

I believe most of us will be in the class of "DOT Street-Chevy Cars and Trucks-Trophy Class"....1/4 Mile, Full Tree, No Slicks, DOT Tires, Registration Required, All Run Field, No Throttle Stops, Any Power Adder Combo Allowed, Any Tire Size Allowed, No Weight Limit, Mechanical throttle stops permitted.....

Just FYI...it's just what I saw off the web-site, that I "think" may apply to us...Didn't see anything about required apparrel....

Poked around NHRA rules....Robert is right, 13.99 and under a snell approved helmet is required....9.99 and under, a full-face snell approved helmet is required...

Snell approved is required...."some tracks will only allow helmets with snell/DOT on inside liner/stitching....may not allow helmets with only snell sticker on outside of helmet...."

....All info above strictly "unofficial"...lol...
Still couldn't find anything on other apparrel for the driver....

I'm gonna bring along a full-faced helmet....in case I hit the nines....lol

We'll all still need one for auto-x, anyways....and if first time racers, I would guess you'd have to wear one on the strip...all good...
