Ti shims?

Heard about titanium brake shims, what's the purpose of these? Reduced heat transfer to caliper/fluid or even wear on pads? I'm pretty decent at smoking breaks on the track and am all for anything that actually helps with heat! Thanks Y'all,
LJ

There are only two options in life. Fight or flight. Most people run. Almost all people run. But not us. The difference between us and everyone else is that we run towards the gunfire. And that makes all the difference.

Reduces heat transfer from pad to caliper pistons/seals/fluid. It will get saturated with heat after a while but for most people and basic track days they would work ok and reduce the inevitable. I would work on brake ducts first and optimizing your rotor/pad selection before investing in something like this.

Only negative I know of is they can reduce the firmness of your pedal to some degree.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Are these someone worth getting on a street car that will see the track only a few times a year?
