Rate That Mod Day 22: AAC Afterburner Taillights

ANNNNND we are back with another day of Rate That Mod. Now with 100% more Polls! Please don't let the polls keep you from actually commenting why you gave the scores, but also don't fill obligated. Every once in awhile I've noticed people have given some great insight about the actual mod in question, like the Scoop that you can get with the CAI Intake, or the fact you may need a bit of modifications to help the MPD Z-force hood fit with the zl1 bumper. All this info I had no clue about and found pretty nice to know!

The Scores so far!

Cold Air Inductions Intake 9.59
Kooks LT Headers 9.47
MRT v2 9.38
Anvil Notched Spoiler 9.21
Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback 8.94
Texas Speed Long Tube Headers 8.89
Vmax CNC Ported Throttle Body 8.59
ZL1 Bumper Swap 8.39
Muffler Delete (V8) 8.29
Plasti - Dip 8.15
MPD1 Z-Force Hood 8.12
Ark DTS Catback 7.64
NS-1 Stripe Package 7.46
Sinister Hood 6.77
Kenne Bell Supercharger 6.74
Rideskinz Aggressor 2 5.63
AeroBlade Spoiler 4.17*
Terminator CF Hood 3.89
GM High Wing Spoiler 2.99
Razzi Body Kit 2.30
Muffler Delete (v6) 1.32

Awesome score for the Texas Speed Headers, well deserved! Now for today's mod, The AAC Afterburner Taillights. These look awesome specially if your trying to go for that look given on the concept car. It comes in two different styles SMD (Brighter, able to see each individual LED) and CCFL (More subtle but one continous unbroken light, like front halos) I personally like the CCFL design more. My score 8/10!

I also want to say that when applicable I will try to use pictures and videos to represent the mods in question just to give people an idea of what the mod is like if they do not already know. I pull these at random either from Google, YouTube or even this website. If you find that I have used something you submitted and want me to take it down please let me know and I will immediately!

If you have any suggestions on what you would want to see next on Rate That Mod please let me know and send me a PM!

I went with 5, it doesn't look bad, but I don't care for it and wouldn't put it on my car

They look pretty good to me but they don't seem to make that huge of a difference from stock. Probably somewhat expensive and complicated to install...I assume. Cool....but just not for me.

I don't think it's worth the money, rather get a CAI or just save for a new exhaust the only thing I like is the sequential turning or whatever it's called, that's the only thing that I liked on the mustang when I was smaller and I wanted them put on the camaro aftermarket but I just don't see the value in them. I like the camaro stock tail lights now anyways.

Annoying install process dropped it to an 8 for me. I really like the way they look, however.

Dont like the SMD ones, and I prefer a 3D afterburner, one that actually changes the housing to some degree to achieve the effect, instead of a flat array of LED's.

CCFL are definitely a step up, but I like the ones that gen5diy sells, or SJM autoprod.

Even these basically free DIY ones look great http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235878

I'll go with a 5/10. Their products look awesome, but the quality is terrible, so that's why I went with a 5/10.

i like AAC, the front colorshifts have worked great for me, but i recently purchased the 2.0 stingray concept afterburners and im not that impressed... ive already gone through 2 replacements due to 2 L.E.D dots burning out already, but they have great C-service. They paid for shipping both ways and was very nice.. so im installing the warranty lights soon, and i hope it was just 2 faulty strips...

id give these a 8/10 myself.

Went w/ 3 out of 10 because I don't see that much improvement over stock. $ and install time vs. outcome not worth it.

Agreed. Since I had the AAC side markers put in, I kinda had to complete it w/the afterburners and soon the LED b/u lights. Although the back up lights are really needed as you can't see anything out of the rear camera @ night w/ the weak stock b/u lights.
