Ya like I said, I've run there three or 4 times now and each time either myself or my buddies have borrowed helmets from our friends with bikes. Never a problem as long as its snell approved.

The above sounds good enough for me. If the snell helmet I purchased does not get me in to autocross or drag, I guess I can wear it sitting in my car for the car show "looking good"... lol

So has that merge with the "BEST OF THE WEST"

As at other SuperChevy shows attended, we didn't get points for car shows or cruises or Auto-X!

And to win the CamaroGuys.com trophy, you just had to be the best on the dragstrip period. Not the fastest, just consistent!

There wasn't a CamaroGuys.com thing two years ago at SCS in Phoenix. This year the two are different.

Dont hit cones(seriously) keep to the shortest path, keep off the brakes or just hit them enough and before a turn or around a cone, not at or after a cone if possible, be smooth and consistant vs trying to be to fast and braking all the time. The last part is hard to get used to as it is counter to normal thought. You'll get better as you do more laps. Just take your time and have fun. Asl Rob(comm54) also as he is good at this

Yea I'm in the same boat. Never autocrossed before. I've watched but never actually participated.

@sanger and Denis: I've only AutoX'd once and it was a blast! Use the first, and possibly second run, to get comfortable with the course. Definitely like VR Baron said, don't brake while in the turn. Something I heard was, "Slow into a turn, fast out of a turn."

Yea I know the whole slow in fast out routine. It just seems like the course can get confusing.

There are cones laying on the ground to tell you which way to turn, walk the track to see the configuration before making your first run.

Actually you are correct. The course that I did had the cones placed together that it kind of made the course a bit confusing. But like I said, use the first and second lap to get a feel for the course and like magilla said, walk the course beforehand to get a feel for it and a feel for the turns.
