Goodbye you tool!
LOL... Maybe they had a Local Motors Rally Fighter in Jetstream blue .
They technically rock a 6.2L of GM origins...

When I pulled up to the dealer in my Camaro, to look at an SS Camaro and a salesmen comes up and starts talking to me. Then tells me Mustangs are better, that was a good one.

I went in and said I was ready to order my car. I asked to place an order for a 2SS in sliver, with IOM interior and IOM stripes. The sales guy went away and came back about 10 mins later and said that I would have to put down a $3000 deposit for a car like that, as if I backed out, it would be hard for them to sell a silver with IOM interior Camaro.

I then suggested my other color option, and said I would order that. A 2SS IOM Camaro with black interior and CGM stripes. Salesman went away and came back 10 mins later and said the same, that I needed to put down $3000 as Orange would be a hard sell if I didn't go through with the sale. Bear in mind, I was ordering a 2011 Camaro, in April 2010. So it's not like the Camaro hadn't been out for a year and they didn't know how they were doing!

So I mention to the sales guy that GM's policy for ordering a Camaro (at the time) was to put a deposit of $500 down. He went back to his manager.

Meanwhile, I called Eric Hall at Classic Chevrolet. I simply asked if he would take my order, exactly how I wanted it, with $500 down. He said yes, no problem, and you don't have to put a deposit down either. I said I'd be there in 20 mins!

Left Bankston, drove to Classic Chevrolet, spoke with Eric, and he brought round 2010 examples of the color combinations I was interested in, and then finally took me to a Corvette ZL1 so I could check out what the HUD would look like when I ordered my 2011.

Best buying experience I've ever had!
Bankston is pretty worthless... I guess it's part of being an autonation dealer... I always preferred dealing with Moritz and Bruce Lowrie when I lived in Fort Worth.

About a year ago I started looking for a ZL1. I came across a dealership that had 3 on their lot. The salesman I talked to said only 400 ZL1s will be built and that's why I should be willing to pay $80,000 for one.

Hmmmm, I told every dealer, including a friend of mine and long time customer, that said it had to be $5000 over sticker to kiss my huge ***. I've said it before, I put together a database of every available ZL1 in the country sitting on my sofa watching Chasing Classic Cars. Anyway, so when one said that ****, I just hung up and called the next. Finally settled on one 2 hours from home.

Going there tomorrow for my "free" oil change they owe me from purchase, it's on the way to F Body Gathering

Service Manager tried to tell me the ONLY tire that will fit on my Camaro is the Pirelli.

Jeep salesman tried to tell me that the 7 slits in the Jeep grille represent the 7 continents that Jeeps have participated in "wars". (total crap)
And that the engine is specially designed so's that it can run upside down and not run dry. (total crap).
And that all Jeeps have full time 4 wheel drive. (total crap)
And that the inside of all Jeep Wranglers is designed so you can hose it down to clean it. (wow)
This guy was a real rocket genius.

VW salesman told me that the Tiguan made 265 HP and would go 185mph.

Uh huh...

Hello again CUPRA!

That's better news. It's good to hear that you had such an awesome experience. I hope the other situation I was working directly on with you is being resolved as well.

I bought my 2SS from Classic as well. I was surprised to actually have a pretty good experience while buying a car. Most of the others have been a beating trying to get my price. We had to go back and forth a few times, but Classic did me well. About to take it back for my first free oil change in a couple of weeks.

All the defects are referred to as "How it is designed"
Q: There's a gap in my front spoiler
A: That's how it is designed

Q: Trim is misaligned.
A: That's how it is designed

Q: At times, when I start to move from stop, car starts to move really slow (as if I'm burning up the tires, which I'm not since it's just typical normal start) and I can smell burning rubber coming from the under the hood.
A: (Oh I already know what the answer is going to be. "That's how it is designed")
