So here's a question- did GM ditch the Ambient door lighting in the 2013's? I haven't found a picture showcasing a single 2013 with it... I have a dealer trying to locate a '13 2SS/RS for me, and I'm already bummed about the change in gauges and steering wheel... I dug the retro look... Hopefully that didn't go bye-bye, too...

The tail lights reek of modern design along with the chopped grill and the lower grill missing a horizontal fin to be just plastic...why ?because the bumper support is there the true bumper...rolled steel..so naturally that part of the front lower valance is non functional to get air into the radiator. And the lack of the center break of the rear trunk lid and down the rear are just a total modern unbroken flow line kind of thinking. Too many cars now have the same bland ugly look and that sells I guess to masses of people....No chrome, no real stylistic style just transportation.......consider the 57 chevy belair, the nomad, the chevelle, the monte carlo, ETC ETC they all could be readily destinguished at a distance by the curves and fins..chrome etc and they were and are beautiful. Some day our cars I believe will be modern classics and be appreciated for such in the future as EPA liberal agenda slowly chokes the muscle car along with fuel prices, taxes, and big government programs.........
I concur with most everything you state above except for one thing. No more chrome!! I feel that utilizing chrome in cars requires a light touch that is usually missed by automakers (case in point Ford Super Duty's and Escalade's). Chrome is very gaudy and its use does not need to ape the prevalence it once had in the past.

Back in 2008, before actual production began, the early literature showed the ambient lighting going across the dash. It seems that once production began it was limited to just the doors.

I love how it wraps around the door panel!

It's also barely visable compared to offerings from other companies and even the more modern ambient lighting.

The new Traverse LTZ has chrome look trim, that has ambient lighting inside the shines through at night... very trick!

I understand the '10 Camaros actually have a harness plug for the dash lighting.
It must have been deleted from production at the last minute for some reason.
Too bad, that and no "B" pillar would have made this car even cooler than it is.
Dopy GM.
