quick question for those that are supporting (me) will we have to stay in the stands or will there be a designated area for people to bring canopies and chairs and just enjoy the view?

This is smart because if it's over 100 degrees (like the forecast says) I'm not coming to spectate, but I'd be bummed to miss seeing my so cal peeps! It's been a lonnnnng time!

Sounds good. I voted but will do whatever everyone else wants to do. Good Idea,it will be 102-104 this weekend so after long day poolside sounds great!

Great idea unfortunately I won't be able to make the bbq. I have to drive back Saturday after Super Chevy. Helping my uncle getting things ready for his baby coming nxt week.

Just drove on 99 in the Bakersfield area. The freeway going both ways are horrible. There's so much construction going on right now.is there anyway we can bypass 99 to go to the hotel and track?

It's the day after Memorial day. It's going to be a busy travel day. It's not normally very bad. You can take i5 if you want.

I'm up in the air about the track. I'll decide this week. I just swore at the last event that was over 100 degrees that I'd never do that again!

It wasn't the roads that were busy it was the roads going thru construction. The middle two lanes were completely walled off. The far right lane and far left lane were the only two open for a about 6-7 miles. Going north bound and southbound in between the hotel and the race track.
