She just told me this story yesterday & when she got to the part about the manager running out I was sure she was going to tell me how he was so sorry about not having menus... Nope. And I guess he didn't understand why she has a scarf on her head instead of hair either...

Exactly, if I had a hydro lift me and my dad would make a day out of it! But I don't and I don't have a pipe bender so we aren't doing it ourselves. I just cant get over how condescending, rude, and disrespectful he was.

OP could have gone to Midas or Mieneke and doesn't want to be embarrassed to tell us that.

Helicopters NO! I called a "custom" muffler shop, I would bend the pipes and glue them on with Elmer's school glue before I did that!

Glad to hear that, car enthusiasts should never go to those McMuffler places.

My question is: why the heck didn't you just order the exhaust from Solo Performance? They are the kings of the J pipe and couldn't be nicer folks!

Yep, I will not be going there to get my exhaust installed and I will be taking my money else where. I don't even know if I would go back even if they offered me a discount, they'd probably put a hole in something on purpose! No respect and i will NOT recommend that muffler shop to anyone! Certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyways thats my rant!

just had a similar problem with a muffler shop yesterday. They want easy jobs that will take a few minutes. Once you ask for anything out of the ordinary, they're a-holes about the whole thing. They act as if theyre doing the work for free or something.

I don't understand why you would get so upset about this, it's pretty common, some shops don't like doing custom stuff because the customers just never stop complaining about it doesn't work or it's not right, or the bill is too high, if you can buy them somewhere that would be better anyway since you'll know they were made right. I don't understand why you want J Pipes in the exhaust either, sounds stupid to me too.

I had the J pipe put on my car about 4 months ago by a local shop and it killed the bad drone from the 2000 rpm range. When I approached the shop owner about this he had no clue and wanted to put in a balance pipe between the two pipes. What I did was bring my computer and showed him on the orginal J pipe thread and brought up the Solo website to show him what I was refering to. He was highly recommended as the best exhaust guy in town. He took the time to look more into the perpose of the J pipe and scheduled me for the next day to cut, bend, and weld it up for 150 labor and material. Though he never heard of this he was open minded enough to take the time to talk and did a great job. That is why he is proberly the best in town.

the JPipe kills the drone in the 2,000 range, so now basically your modified exhaust sounds just like the stock exhaust.
