Also, only factory style cats are legal here. That being said, the Magnaflow high flow I had on my thirdgen passed the sniffer with flying colors--my smog guy "passed" me on the visual
WOW....I totally forgot that, Edelbrock shorties did pay the CARB extortion fee. I agree with you, even it won't make any serious HP gains...they do look a lot better than stock manifolds. I had no clue that the cats were reg'd there too! I seriously could not live there!

Gotcha. I have a guy that should pass it for me, he never even looks under the car... So shorties aren't gonna get me much in the way of HP, how about the sound of the car? The cats should make her notably louder right?

You might hear a slight change in tone, but not much more sound volume (as was the case with my thirdgen). The factory cats are fairly high flowing, so it's not like you'd be uncorking some big flow. If you "have a guy" to pass you on smog, LTH with an ORY will show you the best increase in power by far. I've heard of guys gaining an additional 30-40hp with a tune. I personally don't want to worry about getting pulled over and having to pop my hood, so I have stock manifolds and cats into a Hooker catback.

If you want to increase your decibel output, I'd highly recommend a cutout before the axle. You'd have all the scary rumble you want next to a mustang at a stoplight, with the ability to calm it down on the freeway or with the tops off.

edit: Nice SS, btw!

I have never been. But I've heard from some people that it's pretty good & has a lot of cars. Muscle cars too, which is the main reason I want to go. I don't believe Bass Pro Shops hosts it. I found info about it on camaro5 in the regional forums and on dodgetalk.com.
It happens every other Thursday, weather pending of course. So, it's not on tonight, but next Thursday.

Thanks, she's my baby.

Thanks for all the tips tho, real curious to see how it turns out when all is done. Not really looking to change the tone too much, I like the baritone growl of the LM2, but the extra volume on demand would be nice, hadn't really thought about cutouts much... Dumb question, but you do have to get under the car to open/close those right? Not somethin that operates on a switch right?...
