Your car sounds really good! I'm confused though, what is the difference between having a resonated x pipe with no mufflers and no resonators and (insert exhaust type). Doesn't a resonated x pipe serve the same function as a muffler?

Yes and no. The resonated x-pipe is essentially a muffler but we use it more as a way to get rid of rasp. The resonated x-pipe has been proven to get rid of rasp while other mufflers aren't so good at reducing rasp.

I still think it sounds pretty awesome...at least up until the 4,000 to 4,500 rpm mark...then the V6 high pitch starts to come through and there is some of that rasp. I wouldn't say it sounds bad....just a bit thin and harsh. Otherwise...it sounds freaking awesome. You've definitely got something great here.

I wonder what some dynomax bullets would do to this setup.

For awhile I've been wanting to try removing my rear magnaflows mufflers and do bullets instead to go with my resonated X. Just afraid of the possible drone, and of possible rasp at high rpms.

If your theory about drone being caused by the pipe dropping down from 2.5 to 2.25 is true, that means I'd want to go at least 2.5 all the way out.

Just got too many other irons in the fire right now to take care of before I try something like that.

Only thing I was really worried about was drone but when it was all said and done and drone was greatly reduced, I got my permagrin back :-)

Im not sure what dynomax bullets would do either but most likely would quiet thr exhaust note.

I am going to get this basically. How much was it to install the x pipe, delete the cats/resonators, and get all of the 3" piping to the back?

I'm thinking maybe the bullets would control the tones a bit better in high rpm ranges....but maybe not.

If you do everything all at once you will save loys of money with labour. The 3" custom pipe install was by far the most expensive part of the install. Each time I had something done on the car it was like 150 bucks labour mostly. Xpipe was 150 to install and I had to fight to convince them to install it. They said it was too tight of a fit but it worked.

DONE! I have what you have - the cam, but I think mine sounds wayyy different. I freakin love it though. I think most of you would love this as well. It took away all of the rasp, and provided a nice deep tone. Its awesome

Are you running the same setup as DJ...except for the shorty headers? If so...I'd really like to hear that.
