With what has been happening to your v6 I would say upgrade to the SS. I would avoid FI since you are having that issue, or atleast avoid it until it gets fixed. But ultimately it is your choice . I personally hate spending money that I either don't have or have to borrow but that is just me. Hope everything works out!!!!

Thanks. Here's another shot of the progress. I might need to put another coat on the manifold tomorrow morning because it looks like it might have some spots that you can see the primer.

I'm 23 and I bought my car when I was 19 so I put everything in my dad's name. I cut him a check for the 24k it originally cost for the car. I thought he had taken that money and paid off the car note but instead he used it for something else and instead has been making payments. 12k is still owed on the car and he's saying he needs a month or two to get me my 12k.

So now I basically need another 12k that I should have had in the first place. I'm not sure if I can get another 12k in loans after I just got this 14k... I'm going to have the salesman try and see if I can put the whole thing under my name. If it goes through I'll be in a SS. If not I'll have 14k and my car.

So if I get denied I'm not sure if I'll return the 14 or just go FI...I have a good credit score though so who knows...
Absolutely SS. And kick your dad's ass lol

I hate to say it but I agree with kj. I wouldn't go FI until you at least know things are fixed. If you go FI and need another engine replacement, you're going to need to pay it out of pocket then. I'd definitely go the SS upgrade route

With your cars problems I wouldn't want to invest more cash into it.
Specially putting more power in the engine.
Would you go for another v6 and supercharging that brand new engine ?
The lfx is better for forced induction and tuning you will be getting more power than a stock v8

Yeah I don't know how to get the dealer to address this issue. I would have 14k though so I could buy a new LLT and turbo that, then save the one I have and tear it down as a back up/project. Agreed on the money but I need something that will last.

Lmao I just talked to him and he said he'd absolutely have my full 12k in about two months. He didn't anticipate me selling the car and he just refinanced the house so otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. He paid for my school so I really am not in a position to be upset lol

You're just trying to scoop my catch can! lmao nah but you guys are right this engine reallyyyy shouldn't get boosted.

14k should definitely be enough to swap for an LFX and MAYBE have dough left over for a kit, that, I am completely fine with.

I had a 720 score last year and since then I got a new Wells Fargo card that I always pay on time and never the minimum so I don't see why I'd get denied for a $26,000k loan...thats the only thing stopping me from getting the SS at this point.

It just sucks that I'd get a damn misfire problem because its hard to get a dealer to fix that.

Not at all
Nah but really, the LLT is already not the greatest platform for boost and reliability when working 100%. No way in hell I'd boost if I was having problems.

Let us know how it goes. There someone selling his LFX IPF kit. It's used but you can probably get a nice discount in it.

Lolol well its looking like you'll have that can by the end of this week, I'll keep you posted.

I think the LLT is fine for low boost set ups, 400 whp with 6-8 PSI. Its above and beyond that that creates the problem.

If this SS deal falls through, I wonder how much it would cost to get into an LFX? Probably not too much...

Just read your thread. Thank God you found the problem. That could have been catastrophic!
