Black or Ashen Gray Metallic? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

As the days come closer and closer to me acquiring my 2013 2LT/RS, I have really been questioning myself a lot lately! I have my mind set on everything that I want, and I am 99% set on Ashen Gray Metallic also, but there is that 1% that haunts me to whether or not I should get black. Both colors are spectacular, and I have to agree that no matter what color I choose it will look great.

Black is STUNNING when it is clean, but it shows dirt so much and living down a dirt road and in the country, grime is inevitable. And with grime comes swirl marks. That is the only thing that is keeping me from getting black... I fear that I will pull into my driveway the day I buy it and there will already be microscopic scratches from the 40 feet of my driveway.

Ashen Gray Metallic hides dirt well, though. And it is one of those colors that looks amazing no matter what. But to me, darker colors look better. (black) AGM also has that shine in the sun- that reflective property of the flake in the paint... I think with this color I will have assurance that the swirl marks won't be so easily visible, and it will keep my OCD in check, at least for a little while.

So what do you guys think? I am still leaning towards AGM, but if you like black and can prove to me why it's better, you may change my mind!

I have AGM and love it. Sometimes I wish I would have went with black because of the exterior mods I want. If you are considering doing any mods that need to be painted (hood, fenders, etc) you may want to go with black. Paint matching is a breeze with black. With the other colors, most of the time, they need to be blended to get everything to match up.
Other than that, AGM is a great color.

I avoided black because, well, no offense guys but every camaro you see is always black. It's a safe choice but like 50% of the total of these cars made are black.

Love the picture! Yes, I am actually kind of relieved that most people are telling me to go with my first instinct, AGM. It is making me believe that I wouldn't have made the wrong decision! Your black bowties look awesome, also. I want to Carbon Fiber mine when I get my camaro. Thanks for your opinion!

I mostly see white and silver! The two colors I hate the M O S T ! ! !

I plan on buying 45th anniversary rims for my 2013 2LT/RS and black chroming them... If that helps with your bias a little. I like the rims a lot on the 45th.

You're in TX? The sun and heat might help you make your choice. I've had black cars... Not fun. So far, AGM doesn't seem as hot.
