Best way to go about it.

i picked up a can of MCCC and i want to use it to clean my top end tomorrow morning. Before I do though, I have a few questions, where exactly should I spray it, someone mentioned the forward PCV Vacuum (what is this and what does it look like). Also, since im just doing the top end and not the crankcase do I really need an oil change after? My car is still certified and I have another 1500 miles before my next change from a chevy dealer.

When I did mine, I did the brake vacuum line and the front PCV. I do not have a pic of the PCV, but there is one in the first post by the OP. It is right next to the TB, pointing to the left.

You do not need to do the crankcase now unless you want to change your oil now. It is okay to do it later.

Finally did it! Didn't smoke too much, more like 2 or 3 big puffs. Engine light is on now, I think it should be cleared tomorrow though when I get my oil changed...

i would only do this once especially since you have a catch can now, i believe if you keep seafoaming your car you get bad deposits in unwanted areas...

@ Cant_C_Me

For cleaning your crankshaft, to clarify, you pour in half the STP treatment then you change your oil around 50-100 miles later?

You don'y have to take off the IM itself. Just remove the top plate off the IM. Then spray into each port evenly until the can is empty. You can also clean off the inside of your IM with a rag and Simple Green.
