20's to 18's or 19's- Is anyone 100% sure

I want to buy a set of 18 or 19 inch wheels to swap out my 2LT/RS 20's during the winter. I read numerous threads regarding this, but is anyone 100% sure the the 18 or 19 OEM will work? I dont see why they shouldn't but not sure.

Since I live in Utah, I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

another owner of an RJT LT/RS bought aftermarket 18s and snow tires and posted pics. I am planning the same...
staggered OEM size rims/tires are going to be more pricey..

There's got to be someone out here who can get us an answer. I called GM, who in turn contacted my dealers part department. The guy said I would go with the 18's. Doesn't really address the question. PLEASE ANYONE!!!!

It's been tested by someone on here, 18's will fit on LT/RS cars as they do not have the Brembo brakes.

^ We have a winner.

Although the rim sizes are different, the actual diameter of the wheel and tire whether you ger the 18", 19", or 20" is actually exactly the same due to tread wall differences. Therefore, if you go with an OEM wheel with the same treadwall as the factory tires, you won't even have to reprogram your computers, let alone worry about fit. The only people that have to worry about this are SS owners as not all wheels will fit over the brembos, hence the reason they can't order a spare tire.

So, if I decide to buy the OEM 18's or 19's, they will work on my 2LT/RS.

Yup, like others have said we already got a member who did this, that's why I'm doing it, he has photos posted as well.

Well I have a 2SS RS on the way & I have 19" wheels & winters sitting in the garage. I'm praying they fit over the brembos or some lucky LT owner will get one hell of a deal on $3500 worth of stuff.

Not so quick Batman.........

The issue IS NOT about size, IT is offset which has been reported to be different when you RS the LT.

He may have mounted them but how many miles have been driven and what does it do to the Hubs which are the same as the SS.

I asked the GM Launch Rep in March and he was aware of the question but did not know the answer.

As far as a (soon to be) 2SS owner, I've yet to get an affirmative answer. I gave up and hopefully by fall, there'll be some tires/wheels for us.
