Yeah unlike my soon to be old V6, I'm focused more on looks with this SS. Most I'm planning on doing is an intake, cut outs, MAYBE an LSX manifold because they look sick, and possibly a catback. 426 hp and 420 tq is a massive difference over 312/275 so I think I'll be satisfied for quite some time.

What are these LS3s making with say an intake and cut outs mounted shortly after the cats? I imagine at least 20 whp?

Oh and could someone explain to me the features on a 6MT SS? Like doesn't it have launch control? And is that fuel saver feature only on the auto?

Launch control....have personally never tried it so I'm not much help on that subject.
Fuel saver feature (AFM) is on the autos (l99) only.

Best one out there that i've seen. I also like the Vararam and Rotofabs but CAI is my favorite.

Are you tuning it?

No. Not 20 without a tune. maybe 7-10whp, MAYBE. Expecting anymore would be naieve, if you get more great but I would by no means expect it. Cutouts are for sound. You are not gonna run wide open everywhere and you are placing them after the cat which is the most restrictive component on this car.

The "LSX" manifold without major NA Power adders (heads/cam/headers) or a Centri blower is a waste of money. If you want the look, have your stock manifold custom painted and save your money.

If you tell me or a few others in this thread your goals we can put some mods together for you to consider. I would rather you go in with realistic expectations though.

It has launch control ..l but don't use it. Go the other way. Hold the button for 8 seconds and it disables everything. Obviously drive smart. If traction control kicks in lets say shifting into 2nd it really bogs the car down and sounds and feels awful, much better results if take care of things manually. No fuel saver but it does have skip shift which is annoying, 1st to 4th if the rpms are low enough

Oh yeah ... You may want to get a "long throw shifter" it really delivers that "retro" feel.

Good luck with the new car. Enjoy

I'm swapping over my rims and BMR springs. Can anyone recommend a good intake? I was thinking CAI...
Check for oil leaks in engine bay, rear difer, body damages, timing belt.

I went golfing Thursday, 27puts! Was pretty excited about that. I had 9 1-puts and 9 2's.

Getting ready for the tour!
