Allyou need are basic hand tools, a good drain pan and funnel , some clean up paper towels, the oil and the oil filter plus Jack and jackstands

yeah the Jackstands were mostly what I was thinking of. You are referring to the ramp type stands correct?

Thanks!

No I don't care for the ramps. You get a higher rise with actuals jackstands. Mine are highlift craftsman stands(yellow/black). Just adjust to the height you want, Jack the car up place em under it and lower the car and yur ready to go

Cool! Thanks for the info and advice. I will try and locate some of those this weekend or try and order some online. I appreciate your time and the tips. Looking forward to this new hobby Can't wait to get our other Camaro in. Right now....I am pretty much driving it on the weekends as my wife has taken over it has her daily, but that will at least get me by until mine arrives

You should be able to pick some jackstands up at Autozone or similar.

Ramps are much easier and faster.
Why did you go with Synthetic oil ? It is better oil and handles friction better - therefore cooling better as well, but I've always found that regular changes with non synthetic does fine for an engine. The key is regular changes - every 3000 miles.
There is no arguing against synthetic, don't get me wrong, just curious why you changed. The V8 comes with Mobil 1 in it, but the V6 does not, does it ?

Yes, it does.

This has come up many, many times before. All new camaros, regardless of engine, come with Mobil 1 full synthetic.

I can drive in the garage and be on the ramps, making it a 'non task' altogether .
To each his own, if you like jacks, that's your call, at least your doing it yourself .

Thanks for info on oil. I wasn't aware of V6 with synthetic, only V8. Guess that answers that.
