I damaged my driver's side rear view mirror when I backed it out of the tight garage door opening and hit it on the metal track of the the garage door.
I am so upset. The only thing that is damaged is the housing for the rear view mirror. I am trying to replace it on my own, but I'm having a hard time finding the part and instructions of how to remove the old one without removing the door panel. The mirror is in good shape and the motor is working. I don't want to have to go to the dealer to buy a yellow rear view mirror with auto dim and defrost when all I need is the outside part.

You have to remove the door panel, then remove the mirror, ones that is done you nee to remove the glass mirror to get the housing apart.
