Stuck clutch pedal and burning smell

Yesterday when i left home, during shifting into 4th gear(little aggressive), the clutch pedal stuck to the floor and was coming out by itself slowly and clutch was engaged. had to depress clutch multiple times, come to complete halt and then put into neutral and worked fine after that. During that time i could smell clutch burning and this smell kept coming for day. I went to dealership and they told me that there is a tsb and they will replace the clutch pedal. Is this the cure of this or i am looking at big repair in future?

Wow,

I'm really sorry to hear about the clutch pedal sticking as I'm sure that was a shocking situation for you. Glad to hear the dealership is going to handle the repairs for you. Please keep us updated on this!

Happened to me twice, but not exactly like yours. Both times was shifting aggressively and the pedal stuck for about a split second and popped up normally. The first time I thought it was my imagination. But when it happened again I knew it wasnt. You say there is a TSB. Is there a walk in fix or does it have to be like yours first. Currently its no problem since it only happened twice within 28k miles.

There are a ton of threads on this issue. Search and you will find them.

I had the same issue until I bought an ideal garage master clutch cylinder, tick high flow clutch line, remote clutch reservoir and changed the fluid to motul.

It was working fine when I went to dealership, they asked couple of questions and informed me about tsb. Got called again to notify that pedal is special order from US , so would be coming in 5 days.

Which was it that fixed it? Haha, I change out the clutch fluid often ( I also did the separate clutch res. ) but I still get some clutch pedal grief every so often. Cylinder worth it you think?

Lol I was tired of the issues so I got everything they made to fix it. I think the remote res helps to keep the brake fluid clean. The master cylinder and high flow clutch line is what fixed my problem. It may not fix everyone's.

Make sure you do this every so often especially if you drive...let's say...with enthusiasm http://www.rangeracceleration.com/Clutch_Care.html It's already been found that our clutches aren't the best and this maintenance is easy.

Thanks for the link. Nice writeup, I would replace the oil in the meanwhile , as I am still waiting for pedal. Pedal feels really soft right now and shifting is zerky on second gear. Hope replacing oil will help .
