AAC ABLighting + GM ABL Footwell, is it possible?
I am installing the GM Footwell next week (yes, I know its pricey, but i got it for 315 at shopchevy parts vs. the 350 from GMpartsdirect and the 500 from the dealership) I wanted this kit because its plug and play. But is it possible to add the AAC LEDs to the GM Kit after installation? (in case I want an extra strong glow from the footwell).
I guess that my question really is... After installation, can I replace the GM Footwell LEDs with the AAC LEDs without having to pry open the center console again (just by cutting the wires and replacing the GM with THE AAC?). I know that the AAC could've been cheaper, but i have a 60,000 warranty and the dealerships around here will blame an aftermarket bowtie installation for a computer malfunction and that is the reason I went for the GM LED kit. Still don't know if I'll be wanting to add the AAC LEDs until the installation of the other kit is complete, but it would be nice to know ahead of time. |

Yes that's doable. All you would have to do is splice the AAC lights into the GM wiring. Very easy.

Yeah, that's precisely what I was thinking, but I don't know how the GM (4 different color) settings would affect the AAC LEDs (which do not have multiple settings). You have any idea on what possibly could happen?

Also, moving this thread to the cosmetics/lighting mods subforum - should get you more responses than the DIY section. |
