I'm in a condo complex...the ability to get a hose on it to drain is my main reason for wanting it........and you never strip a drain thread.

I completely forgot about those. When you figure what thread we need for the oil pan, please let me know.

Yeah, those are pretty cool indeed for people who have limited space, restrictions, etc. to be able to work on their cars.
I personally switched mine out to a Magnetic drain plug.....funny how the Silverados come from the factory with a magnetic plug and our Camaros do not...

I had one on my Chevy 6.5TD and on a Mazda Protege. Worked great on the Chevy, but on the Mazda, it hung a little lower, and one day my wife decided to go around a car that was turning left and she had to straddle the edge of the pavement. The angle was just right and the edge of the pavement hit the fumoto valve and broke it. She left a path of oil to her Mom's and a big puddle in the driveway.
So, these are great as long as it doesn't extend too low.

I had one. Yes the F-107n is the correct part for the Camaro.
I bought one and put it on the very first oil change I did on the car at 500 miles. At 1,500 miles when I went to do my second break in oil change I was so happy to be rid of the dirty oil changes, or so I thought. It drained extremely slow. I turned the lever to let the oil out and it took forever. After a couple mins I decided to go back inside since it was pretty hot out. Came back out 30 mins later and it was still draining. So I said f*&# this and went to take it off, oops bad mistake. The stupid thing broke clean in two. The valve is made out of cheap brass and snapped off at the threads without any effort on my part. Luckily I was able to get my pinky in the hole and managed to get the rest of the valve out after a few mins. I will never waste my money on another one nor will I recommend them to anyone. |
