OMG, I am glad you are ok, that was a vicious hit. The person who hit me would no longer be among the living.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Does anyone know how much the side airbags cost? Hylton said $10,000 just for those... great news if that's true.

I guess the best I can hope for is a bent frame... looking at the pics, I doubt it though :(

If the end up fixing this, it better not take 3 months for new parts... ahhhhh :(

How is that great news? If there is frame damage that will push it over the value of the car and it will be totaled out. With the estimated 20% depreciation value, unless you have Gap Insurance or New Car Insurance you will be out about $7,000.

Yep, my dealership said it may be a problem getting parts for mine. Mine is probably not totaled either, but here's crossing fingers for both of us! You bought a new car, you want a new car! Good luck brother!

It's not just the bags that is the issue. All the lines and sensors need to be replaced and the system has to be recharged.

Dear God. You've just experienced every Camaro owner's WORST nightmare.
I'm sorry to hear about the damage, and even sorrier to see it.
Looks like you'll only be getting a new door and a few new panels. But hey, it could have been worse. He could've rear-ended you full speed.

Glad to read you walked away...

I can't imagine how angry you must have been once you realized what had happened. I'd say STAYING away from the other car and driver was a good thing.

Horrible to see another hurt Camaro, but I'm glad to see another driver walking away unhurt.

My wife is an adjuster for a large national auto insurance company. Unfortunately, this does not look like a total loss according to her. It probably does have frame damage but the body shop can legally pull the frame and get it back to factory specs. Not the most ideal situation but they can do it. In order to total it, the damage must be 80%-85% of the value of the car and it doesn't look like it's even close to that much damage. Good luck with crappy situation.
