Who has the most miles on their SS with 6 speed manual?

I have this fear my clutch is going to go out even though I rarely drive the car hard, or never race it. I have about 20K miles and so far so good. Who has the most miles on their clutch and how is it holding up? Any idea how many miles you can put on the Camaro clutch?

Russ

I am a new camaro owner and have this fear that my clutch will give out sooner too. I've never owned a standard transmission car until I got my SS. I got it just a month ago and have put just over 1000 miles on it. I've heard if you drive it well (not racing it, proper driving) then it should last you at least 7 years. I've heard other car owners, not just camaros that they have had their car for 10 years and haven't changed their clutch yet.

Clutches wear is directly related to how they are used, not necessarily how much they are used.

I have noticed the clutch in mine lets you know right away with a smell if it is abused. On level ground the car is like a diesel and will take off with little to no throttle.

I'd say 100k if adult driven. 15k if young aggressive adult.

On my fourth gen, after blowing up second gear I had a new clutch and transmission installed at 60k. Sold the car with 175k with no clutch problems. That included trips to track and a consistent use of the cars "features".

Just hit 30K.
Mine feels weaker than when it was new, but I drive hard. The burnt smell was constant for the first 8K or so. I will be replacing it when the upgrades start getting bolted on.

94,550 miles on the original clutch. We will see how much longer it holds up after this weekend as we are upgrading...
