From what I understand the center ones are just painted black. I have gotten black chrome bolts for my strut brace and they look like a combination of gloss black and chrome. You can see both black and chrome at the same time. I would just be worried that it would scrape right off. I do love my stainless ones but black chrome, at least to me, looks badass

I just spray painted mine Black earlier today. Like the stainless look, but I'm going for that Dark Mean Machine look and now they have literally disappeared.
