2013 Camaro SS vs 2007 Shelby GT500
This is an old video, I should have uploaded it a long time ago.
I thought I'd post it just to share. Not trying to start a ford vs chevy flame war. Both cars are manual transmission. It was a roll race from ~40mph on a closed course. I raced against this GT500 twice. First time is the video below. At the time of this race I was stock other than just a CAI intake. In the video I have a passenger (the person who recorded the vid), and my windows are down. I loose by just a nose. We went again and I had my passenger get out, and I rolled the windows up; ended up beating him by about a length and a 1/4. Watch in 1080p (inb4 people make comments about how I started a nose ahead of him... we had a small amount of starting room, got as close as we could.)

That gt500 looks stock and if it was. That makes sense. They are pretty close especially if the gt500 is heatsoaked which doesnt take much with that small heat exchanger. I have no problem at all believing this. Good kill. Op
My car stock is suppse to be 430-440 rwhp. Heatsoak probably brings her down. To 400whp if not a lil less. |

I expected this result. 2007 GT500's run mid/high 12's in the 1/4 mile and I believe they have 500 hp stock. It sounds like this GT500 has exhaust though....maybe just a catback. The driver of the GT500 could've shifted a little faster too.
If the race went longer, the GT500 will slowly pull away since it has the horsepower advantage.

It's also worth noting that you took off first and ahead of him. So he pulled that much plus made up the difference.

It is what it is.... not here to start problems... just stating facts... if I lose I lose im a car enthusiast and not a nut hugger of a certain brand.... also the same can be said for the zl1 heatsoaking...

I might have been a little bit ahead of him, but we were supposed to be at 40mph by the first cones. We were going the same speed when we both took off and we could only get so close to being side by side with such little starting room. Either way I beat him the next time around without the passenger and my windows up so it's all good.

On high speed road course I always ask for an exemption to roll down my windows because of it. Even with ear plugs and a helmet its unbearable and reduces top end speed. They accept it on that specific mention. Good point Porta! Thanks.
